Hi Ladies,
I thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself to the board!
I see lots of new faces. My name is Ranita. I was a regular here back in 2009, was engaged then and was on the way to planning my own 2010 wedding. Unfortunately, my relationship with my then fi came abruptly to an end, about 5 months prior to the wedding. I pretty much disappeared from here when that happened without telling any of the knotties that were posting then. Honestly I was too depressed to discuss it.
For a few months I focused on me. I started doing better at work, started attending school again (I'm working on a certificate program in addictions counseling) and just got more into me. In September of '10, I met someone. I wasn't looking for anything major, just friends. Our friendship was great and I actually appreciated that more than anything. In December we decided to be a couple and over the last 10 months our relationship grew.
Well yesterday he surprised me and proposed! I was just overjoyed (as well as surprised) at all the thoughtfulness he put into proposing. It is awesome that I even though I suffered a heartbreak I was able to go on with life and meet someone that compliments me in every way, that loves me for me, and is my best friend in every way. So, I'm glad to be back! I hope that everyone is blessed and your planning is going great!
