What are you reading?

Because I'm bored and am curious...

What book are you currently reading?

What 5 books are next on your 'to read' list?

  • I'm currently reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Steig Larsson (last of the Dragon Tattoo series), and I like it!

I also recently read The Passage by Justin Cronin, and it was excellent! Even though it was very long, I missed reading it when I was done.

In my nook library yet to read are:
Kraken by China Mieville -- this one is supposed to be good, but bizarre.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (fantasy)

And I am eyeing The Tower, the Zoo, and the Tortoise by Julia Stuart

Hrmm...I can't think of any more right now on my list, so there ya go!
  • I'm reading Citizen Girl by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus.  I loved  The Nanny DiariesThis one's pretty good.  It's holding my attention.

I absolutely totally enjoyed Eat Pray Love.  I'd recommend it to anyone.

I got about 200 pages into The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo and never got un-bored.  I gave it a try, though.

Next up is probably some textbook about information access or something.  Grad school starts in a coupla weeks for me.  Or maybe Three Weeks to Say Goodbye, by CJ Box.  Love his Joe Pickett books.

Some of the recs so far sound interesting--I'll have to add them to my list!
  • I just finished reading The girl who played with fire by Stieg Larsson last night. These books are SO good. Oh Lb, I love Jodi Picoult. Handle with Care is good, but heart wrenching.

  • I just finished reading Kyndra Davis's Sophie Katz series. They were OK. I also ready Tithe by Holly Black. Also Ironside, that's Tithe's sequel.

I think I want to re-read Twilight. I'm in such a reading rut lol.

  • I'm not sure what my next 5 are, I decide that when I need a new one.

  • I took the new Emily Griffin book on our honeymoon - Love the One You're With.....BAD CHOICE! It's totally about infidelity! Don't recommend it to newlyweds, ha ha!

I just read The Book of Negroes and it was amazing, also "Shanghai Girls" was really good!

  • Read all of Emily Griffin's books earlier this summer.
Just finished Change of Heart my Jodi Picoult and now the hubby and I are on to reading The Five Love Languages.  His sister highly recommended it so were gonna give it try.
After that I'm on to some more Jodi Picoult books...that is if I finish the Love Language book before school starts at the end of the month.  Then its on to reading about human anatomy, medical ethics, and studying my medical terms.

  • I'm reading Looking for Alaska by Peter Jenkins right now. Not sure what I'll be reading next, but I want to finish the Emily Giffin books, as well as read about some local history (I like the book series that is done on every town.. Images of.. ) and whatever else I find at the library next.
  • I am reading The Bullpen Gospels about a minor/major league baseball player (true story.) I read Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner on the HM.  It was great!  My next book is a loner about a boy with Tourette's and then a book by the author of Girl'sPoker Night.  I also have to finish Something Blue.

  • Currently reading "Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest"--- jeffie, you quit the Girl series too early! All the Swedish names finally make sense in the second half of the book.

I will finish the book this week and that will sadly be it for pleasure reading for me- back to school and I will be immersed in grading papers in my spare time.

  • It actually wasn't the Swedish names--it was the financial aspect of the main character's career that I couldn't get into, and I've been reading quite a few books that deal with what seemed to be happening with Salander and her guardian and needed a break from such a heavy topic.  Maybe I'll pick it up again some day.
