Crap! Dance lessons! Where to go?!

Hi ladies!
Our big day is October 27th, 2012. We planned on starting our dance lessons in August, but it slipped away on us! We're looking into private lessons as a surprise for our first dance and plan on taking five or six lessons. We are looking at the following dance studios. Suggestions Please!! :)

Social Dance Studio (cheapest with four lessons for $200, $55 per lesson after)
Four Seasons Dance Studio
Arthur Murray in Saint Paul
Dancers Studio (four lessons for $361.60 or six lessons for $531.60)

I know you get what you pay for, but we're not trying to spend $600 on lessons for a two and a half minute song. :)

Let me know your experiences and suggestions. Thanks!

(Ps we have our 'free' private lesson with Arthur Murry Sept 6th.)

  • I know Arthur Murray's had tons of Groupons and LivingSocial deals lately, maybe they'll have more? I don't have any other ideas, lol!

  • Great idea! Thanks :)
  • Although I don't think I've seen Groupons for them, I have taken lessons at Four Seasons and they are absolutely fabulous. It's a fun, hip studio, and they really know what they are doing. Even though they are small, they have been in business for a long time and I'm certain it's because they do it right!
  • We are using Cinema Ballroom in St. Paul.  You get a free first lesson, then they sell to you...but with the free lesson and the three paid lessons (four total) it was $167.  And I feel like we have learned a lot already, with two lessons to go.  We brought our music with to the first free lesson and started then.  They've been really great.  We have Christina as our instructor.

Once upon a time, there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.
  • Thanks ladies! I'll be sure to check out Cinema Ballroom and Four Seasons today.
  • American Classic Ballroom in Chanhassen has some decent packages.  We got a crowd cut deal there last winter that was $49 for 4 private and 4 group lessons.  Keep an eye out for deals like that.
We finished our 8 lessons, but will be going back this fall to finish choreographing our first dance and to refine our skills a little. It's super fun.
  • The other nice perk of Cinema Ballroom in St. Paul is that you get to attend as many group lessons for free the same week you have your private lesson.
