Crock Pot Recipes

I've been using my crock pot more often and love it. I've kind of ran out of recipes to use though that are new and tasty.

So, what is your favorite crock pot recipe?
Pictures get extra points :)

Re: Crock Pot Recipes

  • I am always looking for new crockpot recipes, I love my crockpot!  I usually just make up recipes as I go.  I have never had a bad meal out of the crockpot.
  • My FMIL gave me a cookbook called 'Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook' and I was just going to throw it on the shelf with the rest of my cookbooks but I have pulled about 5 recipes out of that book and no lie, they have ALL been to DIE for.
Becauase of the internet, I would almost never recommend a cook book but this one is just amazing.
  • These all look awesome! Thank you for the ideas! :)

I haven't been to a TJ Maxx or anything in a while, but will totally check the cookbook section out next time I go.

We have tons of cookbooks (no crockpot ones though) and most of them have been passed down, which is really cool. It's just easier for us to do the crockpot route, especially if both DH and I have a busy day or something.

    Thanks everyone! :)

  • My mom makes AMAZING pork chili with her crock pot...but I don't know the recipe for that lol

Something we like to do is use either chicken breast or pork chops, cream of chicken or mushroom soup and egg noodles.  Brown the meat in a skillet with some salt and pepper with a little bit of olive oil.  Throw that in the slow cooker with a can or two of the condensed soup, let it simmer all day and serve over egg noodles.  Quick, easy, and usually stuff you'll have on hand.
  • I love my crockpot! Then I found out they make liners for it and I loved it even more, no mess!

I tried this one recently. I made it the first time, and it was WAY too salty, and I generally like salty. So the second time I made it i think I used 3 cans of cream of chicken,  it was so much better. The recipe she has here doesn't produce enough gravy, it's much better with more cream of chicken.

  • I didn't even know there was such a thing as pre made crock pot meals! My favorite is rosemary and onion pulled pork. I slice 2 large onions and line the bottom with them. Then I put in cute red potatoes, and pork loin on top of that. I then fill the crock pot with a ratio of 1:3 balsamic vinegar to low sodium beef broth, enough that it covers the pork (I usually mix this first, and add a few spoonfuls of tomato paste). I then dump in some fresh rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper. And now I'm hungry :)
