Make Up Recs

I know we do a post about this, just about every other week...but I need some recommendations for traveling make up artists, like ASAP, since my wedding is soooon!!!!

I've contacted Allison Feamster and Melissa Roshan, they're both unavailable.

Thanks ladies!

Meg Morosco from Makeup artistry by Meg. Here is a link to her blog (hasn't been updated recently) http://makeupartistrybymeg.blogspot.com/If you send her an email she can send you pics. I just had my makeup trial and really liked her. I got it done at 9am and had my engagement pics the same evening and it lasted all day long!

Somebody referred Kelli to me awhile ago. I haven't checked her out yet as my wedding is still 11 months away. BTW, when should I be trying to book makeup artists? 4-6 mo out?
  • edited December 2011
I suggest not a month out.....lots of people are booked for me.  I think I originally started looking about 5 months out, then got distracted and forgot.  So, 4-6 is probably good.

And, I've e-mailed Meg and Kelli. Thanks ladies.

Beckilee, I suggest you start contacting people now because I had no idea how far out MUAs get booked.  I contacted Melissa Roshan a year out and she was already booked for my date.
I second Kelli Ramey.  I just had an appt with her yesterday.  She's wonderful and amazing.  I booked her a year out and she already had an appt for earlier in the morning for my date.  My wedding's later in the day so I was able to book her.  I suggest looking at her portfolio on facebook under Beautimarkedbykelli since that's more up to date than her website.

How much should a bride expect to pay for a make-up artist day of? We'll say for airbrush make-up, for arguement's sake.

    Sorry to thread-jack =x

I think with most MUAs, airbrush and traditional makeup are usually about the same.  Some may charge slightly more for airbrush and some don't, so it's just going to depend on the person.  Some makeup artists don't like to use airbrush since they don't like the results, and then others specialize it in, like Allison Feamster.  It's going to depend on what you want.  I personally am getting traditional makeup, but Kelli is going to use a new foundation from MAC that's so incredibly light it doesn't feel like you have makeup on at all.

As far as prices go, on average it seems to be about $100-$150 for the bride, which includes a trial and gloss for you to keep.  And it's normally about $50 for anybody else.  HTH!

I am paying $145 for airbrush with Alison Feamster. This includes a make-up trial before the date.

I know it's a lot of money, but it's your wedding day. Your make-up should be the best on this of all days. Just my 2 cents!
