S/O Moisturizer...

So I have been using Clinique forever, but my face is flipping the eff out lately. And reading that RDR has had issues with Clinique - and Liv said she did too - I think maybe I should try something new.

I have dry skin, that's pretty sensitive too. I've been breaking out randomly lately. Right now I use Clinique's extra-sensitve face wash and the yellow moisturizer.

I'm thinking of just walking into Sephora and saying FIX MY FACE!! But I thought I'd take suggestions from you ladies first :-)

If you have sensitive skin, I recommend Cetaphil moisturizer. Even Neutrogena for sensitive skin would sting sometimes, but Cetaphil doesn't.

I've been using Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser face wash for years, too. (Gentle, not the daily one for normal to oily skin.)

My skin is dry because I use the strongest form of Retin-A cream every night to fight my acne.
  • Ditto to Leia - I have super dry, super sensitive skin with eczema. I use Cetaphil moisturizer and gentle cleanser.

I also found other products designed for sensitive skin to burn and make my face break out (I'm a bit acne prone, though I'm almost 30). I used products by Neutrogena, Clinique, Garnier, Almay, The Cetaphil products feel great! No burning, stinging... seriously. Give it a try :)

  • I have crazy senstive skin, with odd break out of eczema on my face :(

My mom found me this stuff, infinite aloe, which cleared everything up and I have no issues (dry skin or eczema)

  • I use Clean and Clear dual action moisturizer - really cheap and I haven't had any problems in a while.  I recently started using Bliss "Fabulous Foaming Face Wash" every day (the name still makes me giggle a little.)  I love that stuff though - very gentle.  My mom picked it up for me at Sephora.  A little pricy, but I think it's worth it.  I'm too scared to try their moisturizers.. I don't want to get hooked on expensive things!  I also exfoliate with St. Ives Apricot Scrub for sensitive skin about twice a week.

  • Bri, you've been super stressed lately...do you think that is causing it?  I know my face blows up with zits whenever I get really stressed.

I use Neutrogena wash and lotions, my skin is somewhat sensitve, but very oily in places and I couldn't use Cetaphil because I felt like it was using lotion to wash my face...but I've heard many people say they love it.

  • I would do some research and read the reveiws here:

You can also search by product and skin type here:

You might look into Olay. Their fragance free regenerist serum is nice, non-irritating, and works good as a makeup primer, too, IME.

For facewash, seriously, you do NOT need something expensive. Neutrogena and Olay and Cetaphil all make face washes that can work well for sensitive skin.

Also, for sunscreen, look for zinc oxide and/or  titanium dioxide as the only active ingredients. Neutrogena makes a sensitive skin sunscreen that's pretty good. Anything with avobenzone or another chemical type sunscreen is more likely to irritate sensitive skin.
