Hire A Planner and keep your sanity!

My mother insisted that we could plan the wedding by ourselves because she and my grandmother planner her beautiful wedding by themselves....so far, it has been a disaster! That is until I finally got the guts to stand up to my mother and get a wedding planner! I found the most fabulous one too! Mike Winship of Winship Productions is amazing! He has been in the mix for two months now and it is already more than worth it to hire him.  He has sent us to the best vendors for our style and budget, helped with decor and favor ideas AND has some how managed to keep my mother happy and off my back! If only his services extended outside the wedding lines to life, lol.  So ladies and gents, here is the best piece of advice you could ever get when beginning this adventure...hire Winship Productions because you want your sanity on the day you say "I do"!

I also agree.  We did all the planning, but hired a day of coordinator.  It was totally worth it and I didn't have to worry about anything that day. Even when we had to move our outdoor ceremony inside with an hour to go.  I was sipping mimosas while the chairs were being moved.

I don't know if I could give up the control.  I'm a type-A, micromanager.  I think I'm making the florist crazy... and I know I've made the venue's wedding specialist nuts.  But dang people, I can be contacted anyday of the week at anytime via either a phone call, a text message, or an email.
Would I be more sane? It's a toss up.  What happens if I give up the power and then the wedding planner isn't as anal as I am?
Naw, I'll do it myself.  Day of?  I will get a day of coordinator.

How much to wedding planners usually cost? I have heard flat fee and percentage of your total budget.
