Wedding Program wording

I'm looking to do something a little more on the simple side for wedding programs. I'd like to stay away from listing out every move and detail of the entire ceremony. We'll be keeping it short and sweet, so I'm looking for some ideas as far as wording a simplier program and what I really SHOULD keep on it. Please help!
I'll obviously be listing the Bridal Party, Parents and the officant, but what else really Needs to be included or should be included. I'd like to keep it looking classy, but I'd also like to keep it a little more fun and upbeat. Any suggestions?? Past programs you've had or seen?

Wedding programs are optional, so I don't think you really need anything else if there are no special customs, readings, or religious rituals that need to be explained to guests or if there are no deceased loved ones to be given tributes.

I personally went onto Esty and got a paper fan/program. It came out beautifully, and was whimsical and fun!

No they aren't strictly necessary, but they do make good keepsakes, and if your wedding is in the summer, fans would come in handy!

We kept it simple and made them on Vistaprint. In addition to bridal party names, we included the names of readings and musical selections and the name of the officiant and the organist. It was just the front and back of 6 X 9 cardstock with pretty illustration and nice font. I actually just brought some down to my sister so she could put them in scrapbooks for my neices (they were flower girls and a jr BM.) Some people did keep them and while it was not a full mass, it was in a Catholic church with a lot of non-Catholics in attendance so I thought they were a nice thing to have. Plus, I loved our programs

We did ours in layers, so to speak. The top layer was just a cover with our names and the date, the second layer or tab listed the wedding party, the third layer listed the order of the ceremony, but it was really short, we also didn't have any readings or such so no need to list who was doing those, then the fourth layer was just a quick thank you note for attending and such. We kept it pretty simple and really just listed the most basic information.

I will mention that we had a number left over when all was said and done.
