The very first picture is who I made friends with. Okay, so we got there and the place was under construction. I had to hike in a few yards in my heels. Turns out I'm a shoe rookie and didn't break them in. Oops! I got there, and it was the quintessential prom - gym floor, balloon arch, and prom dresses galore - people wore vintage, hand made, embellished, sexy LBD (me), and night-out-on-the town clothes - everyone rocked it, but not at first...

I got my drink tickets and made the rounds - wine, check. cupcakes, check, bathroom for obligatory FB picture taken by a stranger....check. I was feeling kind of bummed because everyone bailed, and I had a choice - either dive in or call up my husband and go home. So I walked towards the tables and decided that I was going to approach the first table that looked like they were having a good time. Turns out it was the first table I passed, so I asked if I could sit with them, and all four of these awesome ladies in vintage 80s dresses said yes.

They were so nice! They all had teenagers and they had amazing stories...but mostly we danced our butts off.

I'm so going next year - it was so much fun.

Oh and the song that got everyone out on the floor was Eurythmics, Sweet Dreams. Go figure.

I had a reply all written up earlier then got bogged down with work. I love the ones with you guys with the guitars & sax! Looks like something out of a Robert Palmer music video!
