When to begin?

I want to ask everyone when they will start planning?? I have ideas and I want to start but Derek my fianc says its too early! I want everything to be perfect! When are you starting your planning???

    I am looking at different things and getting ideas and picking where but other then that not anything real big yet.

    I would not get your dress yet or book things that might change in just under two years. For example, colour schemes can change if you are going with a more modern or trendy look, etc. We have our venue booked, photographer, and meal picked out because those are things we love. Also have a gust list done but I know it will change before invitations go out. Just stuff to think about :)

    I got my dress in 2010 because we were gonna get married in 2011 but I got pregnant. So we moved it again to 2014 because we got to move our friends are kicking us out.

    We just got engaged a week ago.. I have the church and the reception booked.. Now I can relax and take my time planning and booking all my other vendors, dresses etc.!

    Since we have a year and a half til the wedding I'm so excited I hope the time flies by!, we are going to wait for major planning until after the holidays. I think the most important thing to do first is find the venues for your ceremony and reception. After that we'll work on the guest list. I've also been playing around with color ideas but haven't picked anything yet. Congrats to all you lovely ladies! I'm so excited to be on this forum and getting to know you all!!

    Never too early to start planning! We got engaged Nov 24, 2012 and are getting married June 21, 2014. We have the church, reception venue, band, and transportation booked. Summer weddings in Newport, RI are very popular so we are getting a head start and just doing 1 thing at a time. Good luck

    We got engaged on April 15th 2013 and are planning a late June 21st/28th 2014 wedding! We are visiting venues for the ceremony/reception which hopefully will also be the caterer, and just need to sign the contracts for our DJ and Photographer. We are going for a dress appt. on Saturday. That is all we have done so far!

    I am a June 29, 2014 bride and already have the church/reception, photographer, and DJ.  I've been trying on gowns but haven't found "the one" yet.  It's never too early to plan, especially if you are indecisive like me!
