Bridesmaid Gifts

Hi Everyone,

Im just starting to look into gifts for my bridesmaids... I was just wondering how much everyone has spent on their girls!  & if you have any suggestions that you gave that your girls like I would greatly appreciate it!  I would love to give them something that is practical that they will use  a lot! Thanks for your suggestions!

Re: Bridesmaid Gifts

  • I bought each a girl a necklace that I got during a major clearance sale!  I also got them each a makeup bag and I put a candle, nail file, spa socks, handheld massager, and eye mask in it.  I think that is all I'm doing and it cost me about $35 for each girl and I have 6 bridesmaids.

  • I got my bridesmaids a necklace from Macy's. I watched the sales and had a coupon, which helped a lot because I had to buy 5 of them. The one I bought them went with the dresses they wore in the wedding, but was also very practical and nice enough to be worn with a nice outfit but casual enough to wear everyday. I've seen a few of my bridesmaids wearing it often now that our wedding has passed.

I also bought canvas tote bags from The Knot when they were having a sale, and bought them un-monogrammed. They were much cheaper that way, about $4-5. This acted as the "wrapping" for the rest of their gifts. I planned to possibly monogram them myself later on, but ended up skipping it. I thought they would use them more often if they were plain.

I also gave each of them a different picture frame in which I put a picture of us together. So it was personalized for each bridesmaid.

The last thing I did was buy a 6 pack of wine glasses from HomeGoods. I bought glass paint from a craft store and painted them myself. They each had a similar design but they all were a little different. To go with this I gave them each a cheap but decent bottle of wine.

All in all I think I spent about $50 a bridesmaid and I think each of them really enjoyed and still use everything I gave them. I planned way in advance and bought things when the price was good. Spreading my purchases out throughout the year of planning also helped it feel like I wasn't spending as much money all at once too.

  • I was so stuck on this too.  I ended up buying each girl a silk robe from Victoria's Secret (got during the semi-annual and had a 30% off coupon) and a Kate Spade makeup bag (got on sale as well).  Then I took them to the spa the day before the wedding and paid for them to have a mani, pedi, etc whatever they wanted to get.  I ended up spending about $100 per girl.

  • I plan on buying each girl a ss necklace from Tiffany's. It is not inexpensive, but I feel after all of the things they do for me, they more than deserve it. I'm choosing a style that each would wear on a daily basis.

  • I got them these clutches from Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/72409964/custom-silk-silver-bridesmaid-clutch.  I had them personalized different pattern fabic on the inside and their initials embroidered, also on the inside.  I figured they could get some use out of a silver clutch, and it would still match their navy dresses.  It came to about $55 per clutch,  but I plan to fill them with anything I can think of that you would fill a clutch with for a night out like a nice lip gloss, gum, mints, blotting paper etc.  I am also going to buy them flip flops for dancing.

For my maid and matron of honor, I am also going to buy them this card case from Tiffany's: ttp://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP04404&mcat=&cid=288142&search_params=s+5-p+3-c+288142-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+.  I wanted to get them a little something extra because they have really put a lot of time into planning all of my pre-wedding events.

    Good luck!
