Two ?s for Tuesday

Morning' girls!

Happy first day of SPRING!  I must say that this winter wasn't very winter-y here.

So, with spring, I am thinking spring cleaning....

Do you do a big clean of your home in the spring?

What is your least favorite cleaning task?

  • Cleaning... Meh. 1. Not really. Theoretically I do lots of little tasks throughout the year. 2. In general, I think maybe vacuuming. I know if we did it more often it wouldn't be such a pain, but it's just so big and clunky, and the cat is scared of it so I can never find him later.

  • Do you do a big clean of your home in the spring? Yes

What is your least favorite cleaning task? I have two: 1) Mopping the floors. It is always hard to keep all the animals from walking on the wet floors and moving all the furniture around is a pain.
    2) Cleaning the baseboards. It's a pain and I dislike it greatly.

Not really... I'll go through our closets and take out things we don't wear anymore to donate but I'm type A when it comes to cleaning so my house rarely needs anything major.

    Dusting

  • Don't usually do a spring cleaning here, but since we are planning on putting the house on the market this summer, a major cleaning (and purge!) is in order.

My allergies hate dusting and vacuuming.  Luckily Joel likes vacuuming and we both can deal with a little dust lying on the shelves.

  • 1. Spring cleaning? Not usually. Thinking about clearing out my closet though. I've got too much clothing that I never wear.

    2. Least favorite: baseboards and tub/shower. I get a horrible backache with both!

  • spring cleaning? not really. we have been doing better with cleaning regularly since we moved, though. we used to do it so rarely that things got gross, and then cleaning was even worse. we are better with upkeep now, at my insistence. i swear, if it was up to liam, we would never ever clean.
least favorite cleaning? well, i don't really like any of it. i don't like cleaning the bathrooms, in particular. there is a stain on one of our toilets, like a ring. it is not from us, it was there when we got here, but it really bothers me. it's not dirt, it's a stain, and i won't be able to get it clean, but it doesn't stop me from trying.

  • Do you do a big clean of your home in the spring?
This will be the first year that I will "spring clean" Last year we had just bought the house and so it was pretty spotless. I'm almost looking forward to it. I love having a nice clean house!

What is your least favorite cleaning task?
I hate cleaning the baseboards. There is no easy/fast way to clean them. If anyone has any suggestions other than getting down and scrubbing them, polease let me know.

    Nope.

What is your least favorite cleaning task?
None of them.  This year the big task is me going through all my craft/art supplies and my office stuff.  I am trying to purge some of it that hasn't been used in a while so we have more room.

We are also in a huge need to clean our garage.  Z has a clunker car sitting on our backyard lawn for parts for his ministock car (which he isn't doing now till 2014) so we want to finish baby's room then clean the garage so he can tear that clunker apart get the things he needs and then get it off the property.

We have tons of things that we want to do this summer!! Let's hope it all happens.

  • Spring cleaning - not really.  I get a wild hair every so often and go on a massive cleaning spree regardless of the time of year.  However, one of those will happen before Margot comes out in May so I guess you can call that Spring Cleaning.  :)

Least favorite - blinds & windows!  All of our screens and windows (on the outside of the house) need some major cleaning and I'm not looking forward to it.

  • Happy first day of SPRING!

Do you do a big clean of your home in the spring? I clean all of the time, because I can't stand dirtiness or messes. I get rid of items we don't need as I come across them... so there is no need for a major purge this spring.

What is your least favorite cleaning task? I have a few: baseboards, windows/screens, washing dishes, and vacuuming.

  • No big cleaning here, but I did just donate a ton of clothes. I hate all cleaning. I do it, but I hate it. I do enjoy organizing though! I love to take messy areas and tidy up/organize everything. I do like to drink and clean. It makes the cleaning fun :

    I'll have to try this.<div>
</div><div>I will go into a random cleaning/reorgainzing spree which I can feel one coming on pretty soon.  Our closet is in dire need of some TLC, so that will be my next big "to-do" once I have a free weekend.</div><div>
</div><div>I hate vaccuuming.  Our apartment has different levels and our stairs are inside.  That's pretty much the reason we hired a cleaning lady. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-embarassed.gif" border="0" alt="Embarassed" title="Embarassed" /></div>

I wish I could still do this.  I would drink a frozen cocktail with the music cranked and the windows wide open in the summer!  Oh how I will miss the frozen cocktail part of that!

I wish we could afford to hire someone.  I don't do toilets/tubs-showers/sinks - most of the bathrooms!  That is Z's area to clean.  That's all he does inside, with the exception of helping with dishes sometimes.

  • Happy Spring!

Do you do a big clean of your home in the spring? No big clean needed here either, but our closets definitely need organizing.

What is your least favorite cleaning task? Vacuuming. Our vacuum is old and has seen better days.

  • Spring Cleaning?  I kinda go on crazy sprees whenever I have the time.  Because our apartment is so small we do have all the spring/summer stuff in bins in the basement so that will all need to be swapped with the winter stuff and cleaned and put away.

Least favorite cleaning?  My allergies hate it all.  But, i'd have to say anything having to do with the windows.  Someone painted and then dusted the house so all the windowsills have dust under the paint so no matter how much  clean they are still dirty.

I'm working on a big spring clean currently, but it's being stretched over a couple weeks and done in small bits once H comes home to watch The Infantry.  Mostly I'm purging stuff:  clothes, books, kitchen stuff and other random crap.  I hope I can get some decent cash for my books.  I have to get the office organized since I'll be working partly from home when I'm off maternity leave in a couple weeks.  I also have to get the closet in The Infantry's room cleared out so they can use it.

Least favorite part so far is going through boxes of crap I haven't looked through in almost 10 years.  There's just. so. much. crap.  And cleaning the bathtub sucks because it hurts my knees even if I kneel on a thick towel.

I find that the best motivation for cleaning is watching Hoarders.  It really puts me in the mood to rid myself of junk.
  • Hi Cake! It's nice to see you on TK again. I hope you and the clones are doing well :)
