Wolverine (I'm sticking with it) is doing well. Still in the NICU, but hopefully home soon.

Little girl is the star baby in the NICU:
*is at the max feed level for her gestational age, and finishing all bottles in 1/2 the "allotted" time or less.
    *no more IVs
    *no more temp probe
*still in the isolette, but they lowered the internal temp, and she is wearing clothes and maintaining her own temp - next step is an open air crib

She's 1 week old today, at a gestational age of 35 weeks - but advanced for her age according to the NICU nurses.

Glad to hear it, Barbie.  Has she been gaining weight?  What are the goals she must reach before she can go home?

yes, gaining weight too - she's up to 4.7oz, an oz above her birth weight.

.. and she never needed breathing assistance.

i need to talk to the dr. today about criteria, because she is meeting/surpassing every expectation, and I want my baby home, dammit!

i know she'll have to graduate to an open air crib and continue to meet feeding/temp goals, continue to gain weight, and pass a carseat test. I want the Dr. to cover specifics though

I'm so glad she's doing so well. I can't wait to hear when you get to take her home.

Are you still in the hospital? Or are you just visiting the little girl during the day?

I got discharged on Sunday - we've been driving down to the hospital for a few hours every day and spending time with Wolverine - usually give her a bottle, spend time with Kangaroo care (skin to skin contact for at least an hour), dad holds her and plays with her while I pump, get to dress her in cute little outfits now that most of her probes/IVs etc. are gone, change her diapers, change the bed. etc.
