He Surprised Me...

..and expressed his unbelivable excitement for the wedding! I knew he was excited for the marriage..but the wedding was something he never expressed interest in...

On Friday we went out for drinks after an awful day at work, and as the drinks flowed he opened up about how between our wedding and being able to be with all his family and friends, that it will be the best weekend of his life. I was so touched because in the midst of all this planning I thought that "this event" was becoming a bother and was only for me..

Is your FI very excited or is he playing it cool??

FI just wants to "show up." lol  It's cool, he is not excited for the wedding planning, but I can tell he's looking forward to the wedding, as well as the marriage.  He's been really sweet lately.

awww. The drinks loosened him up? LOL!

We always think that the men don't care about the wedding. Truth is, they do! at lot more than they let on and definitely a lot more than we give them credit for.

I am glad you guys shared that moment!

My FI is protesting our wedding.  He wants vinyl siding instead.  He thinks the wedding is preventing us from spending money on things needed for the house, but initially the whole idea of having a wedding was his idea.  I told him that I did not want one because we did not have the money for a wedding and he goes, "well we can keep it simple and not go over..." and named some outrageous, unspeakably low dollar amount that is completely unrealistic, but I researched it and discovered that I was right all along, it could not be done, but then I got wrapped up in the hoopla, and now here we are 47 days away and we are having this wedding whether he's excited about it or not.  I just need him to show up, sign a few documents and say a few words.

He gets aggrevated every once in a while when his pockets are feeling empty.  But overall, I think he is going to enjoy the day.  We have done a lot to make it special.  He is most excited about the honeymoon and the fact that we will both be off from work for two weeks.

This past weekend, my FI wanted to talk more about the wedding with me. He's been a little lax on his part, so he approached the subject of a few things and I was a bit surprised. He's letting me get the main cake from the bakery of my choice and his groom's cake is coming from the bakery he likes. He asked me to come with him to look at the tux he's thinking of getting. He also wants to have a father daughter dance, which I am against since I just met my dad after 27 years. There are no songs to really talk about our relationship, but since FI wants to do it I'm okay with it.

my FI is indifferent to the wedding plans. hes more concerned about the honeymoon. oh and the food he showed some interest in. lately i only report back to him if hes needed about the details or the budget. thats nice that hes showing he cares now.

Aww, sweet!  My FI is very excited.  Everytime he learns another detail about the wedding, he gets even more excited.  The excitment has not motivated him to help me with a SINGLE thing, but he's excited!
