Austin Powers reference anyone???  Okay...nevermind...
Hello ladies!  I've been stalking this site pretty much ever since I got engaged and I finally gathered up the courage to join and introduce myself!  This whole wedding-planning business seemed pretty intimidating at first, but you ladies have been unknowingly helping me out a lot (wow, that sounded kinda creepy and stalkerish...haha, sorry!).  Anyway, just wanted to thank you for all of your help so far and I look forward to posting here in the future!

    Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

    jaimelody... The venue we like has a few dates open that we like... just trying to decide right now based on prices.  I've seen that a lot of people on this board don't like Sunday weddings, but we might have to do it for price reasons (fiance and I are paying for the entire wedding ourselves).

    Although Sunday is not the preferred day of the week, there are several girls here who have had/will have their wedding on a Sunday (myself included).

    Im a sunday bride as well..... since our families are very catholic, their presence at the actually ceremony was important.  If we chose a friday many people would not be able to come or need to take off of work.  Our sunday wedding begins at 3 and will end around 10:30.... we dont' have many oot guests either so a Sunday wedding was perfect for us, and yes it does save money.

    Welcome!  We also had a Sunday wedding and it was fine.  Although most people do prefer Saturday, that's just a preference and it doesn't mean people won't show up or have a good time at a Sunday wedding - they do (depending on the wedding of course!)  We picked Sunday due to the price and the fact that we needed the lower minimum.  It also happened to fall on our 10-year dating annversary date. Ours ended at 8:30 so people were still able to recover enough to go to work the next day and we had time for an after-party for those who wanted to come.  Do what's best for you.

    Welcome and congrats!  I'm a Friday bride, and chose Friday b/c of lower price.

    Welcome and Congrats. I will be a sunday bride too. we chose sunday during the summer because many of our guest will be traveling in from out of town. We figured people would rather take off monday than a wed or  thursday and friday to attend our wedding. The Sunday price helped too. Good luck planning.

    Thanks!  As of today, FI and I decided on Sunday (thanks to a lot of what you girls said).  Our decision basically came down to the same reasons JennM said above.

    Thanks again for all of the advice and the warm welcomes girls!
