Not Engaged Yet

UGH.

So this girl who went to HS with me (she's a few years younger) just graduated like.. the year before last.

She has a baby.
She sleeps on her baby daddy's bunk bed with him at his mom's house.
She has a blog.
Her baby is 4 months old.
She has him completely on solid foods.
SHE BLOGS ABOUT THIS LIKE IT IS OKAY.
She is trying to explain to people how you can get your baby to eat solid foods so early.

She does this crap all the time.  Gives crappy parenting advice to her other teenage mothers.

Idk why this bothers me so much, but I'm seriously aggravated about it.

Wow, this is terrible... First of all, I don't know why you'd want your baby to be on solids completely at 4 months... but, besides that, I've always heard 4 months is when you START feeding solids, not completely switch over... I want to see this blog!

six months is when you switch to rice/mik or formula mix.. then just rice.... from there you can start with the solids.

So aside from the fact this chick is obviously a moron... how are the rest of the morons (bf and me) supposed to know this stuff? Do little people come with some sort of handbook? Is there a "Babies for Dummies" book out there?

When do short people start eating real food?

And did she get knocked up in said bunkbed? Because that's just... wrong.

It sounds like high school kid porn.

They should be introduced to solids at about 6 months at the earliest. Just do your best research, Paint.  You'll be fine.

And yes, she got knocked up on that bunk bed, IIRC.  She snuck out of her house one night while she was grounded. Her brother is a friend of mine, so I got the deets from him when she told her parents.

What does solid food mean?  Like a jar of baby food carrots?  Or actual adult solid food?

    Poor baby.

Eww. Yeah you can't eat adult food for awhile.  My niece is 7 months and she just started baby food a little while ago.  I don't even know if her doctor recommends eating baby food fruit yet.  That's messed up.

This makes me depressed. That and the fact I witness people that seemingly care more about the sale going on or what coupon they can or can't use over what their child is doing. Granted I realized I am seeing 1/100th of their day but..still.

I would report her to protective services if I could but dosen't seem like there is alot to go on..then again I am a bitch like that,,

(Knocked up under the influence) doth make many morons into stupid parents. **EDIT** No offense if you were a baby of a happy occasion that spiraled into babymaking.  KUUI does happen to parents of planned and hoped for babies.  However, I do side-eye people that just let loose and get pregnant when they fail any combo of parenting, IQ, and sobriety tests.  AKA they are not ready to be parents (thinks of Glee's Quinn).

A friend of mine had a baby last fall and she runs into these morons constantly at play groups that she goes to. She is floored by the fact that there are obese 6 month olds because their parents are feeding them solid foods and thinking it is an accomplishment. She was telling the story based on diaper sizing, I think one baby 6-9 month old was in diapers toddlers would wear because he was so big. She has an acquaintance through these play groups who refuses to read any parenting information because she feels she can figure it out on her own. Sigh

    *le sigh*

this is what makes me question bringing little people into the world...

parenting is a privilege, not a right or something cool to do...

they should create a steralization for all men at birth (because we have enough to deal with) and they have to apply to get their mojo working

good idea with the iq test! sometimes stupidity is inherited and we don't need anymore of that...

At least she left him/her with a baby sitter /sarcasm

Really, REALLY? It's one (really really bad) thing leaving your kid in the car, it's another to leave it in the car with an animal. I've had 5 labs throughout my life. All were very good dogs and *had* never been aggressive dogs. HOWEVER, they are still animals and I would not leave my baby/young child unsupervised with one of them. You never know what could happen that would make the dog become defensive, whether it be a pit, lab, poodle, or a tea cup yorkie.

The lab wouldn't even HAVE to become aggressive. He could just see a bird... and get excited and start jumping around and seriously injure or kill an infant! Labs are BIG dogs!

You girls are just bitches. You obviously don't understand what this girl must be going through.  She's just trying to find some girls who she can help through her own situation. You don't know this girl, yet you continue to berate her over her parenting decisions.
