I was thinking about your bar dilemma earlier today - do all the drinks cost 15$? Instead of paying for two drinks p/p or whatever it is their choices are, could you do a limited bar with just wine or beer? Or just serve the mimosas if they're cheaper?

I have a copy of their drink menu and their mixed drink they have listed on there starts at $15. I want to be able to pay for everyone's drinks and food, but I'm worried about the drink bill getting crazy quick. Here's my latest idea: Have the unlimited tropical mimosa bar for a cocktail hour while FI and I are getting our pictures taken. My mom is renting a condo with a lanai right next to Mama's so everyone will walk over there and she will have the mimosa bar all se up there waiting for everyone. I'm going to get a lot so that everyone can drink as much as they want. Once we are done taking pictures and have taken pictures with friends and family, we will walk over to Mama's for our lunch reception. We are going to set up a limited drinking menu with Mama's to offer our guests. Going to see about creating a cheaper signiture drink for our reception, as well as a beer and a wine or two. I'll make up a little menu with the drink choices so it's really clear what's being offered and have one at each person's place setting. We are going to offer the limited bar as open for the first hour or hour and a half. We will also treat everyone to a champagne toast following the cake. How does that sound?

Hey, as long as your guests are happy that's the main thing, right?  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

It just occurred to me that I hadn't told you what I usually tell the girls over on the Food & Cakes board: when that budget gets in the way, offer fewer choices.

I'm just blown away by that cost. In the year and a half that I was modding the food and cakes board, I don't think I've heard of a per drink price that was so high. I hope they're not doing 15$ per beer! That would be an insane mark-up.
