where to get alterations

ladies...

....where are you or did you get your dress altered?

I am getting married in Wisconsin so I haven't been on this board all too much for the sake of travel, I'd rather to alterations closer here.

TIA!

i got some bridesmaid dress alterations at Cottage of Tailoring in Worthington. very affordable, very fast, great work. the pace is frenetic in there though so if you'd like more leisurely service, i wouldn't recommend it.

I had my alterations done by Linda Hine.  She works out of her home in Lewis Center.  She is very thorough and I had three fittings with her.  She did a wonderful job, but I think she is a little on the pricey side.  I have contact info. in my bio.

I also used Linda Hine. She made my dress fit like it was made for me. She did an amazing job.

For those of you who used Linda - did she only make appts on Tues/Wed/Thur?  I am an out-of-town bride so that won't really work for me but she told me that's when she does appointments.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?  I wanted to use her because of all the great reviews but I am never in town on those days.

Unfortunately those are the days she takes appointments. :(

I looked back at some old postings, and found some more ladies recommended:
    Linda Hammond (614-777-6070)
    Linda Lemaster (937-349-4281)

I think it's hilarious that they are all named Linda, can you tell it was a popular name awhile back?  (Back in the days when girls were actually taught how to sew!)

I just contacted her. Didn't know about the days thing, but it sounds like it's worth requesting a day off to come down to Columbus!
