Reasonable DJ Quote

Hi Knotties,
     I just got my first DJ quote today, and it is $1150 day rate and an extra $250 if I want to have them there for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Could you please let me know how reasonable that is?  I have a wedding book that says music should be up to 10% of my budget, so I'm not sure if this is expensive or not.

    I paid about that but, I researched a ton of DJs and they ranged from $800 - $2000 for the night.

    Seems pretty reasonable. Are you getting married in the off-season? A lot of DJs I talked to had special rates for off season weddings. I went with Maximum music and it was a very good price.
