Opinions on Venue please

Has anyone considered getting married at the Mission Inn Resort and spa in riverside?? I love it, i just want some opinions/advice of the venue. maybe you gals know more than me about it..etc..because i love!! it but its kind of pricey,we wouod be definitely cutting it close... what would you gals do? Thanks!Smile

    my best friend is getting married there is January the budget is now up to 25,00

    There were two girls on this board that got married there. Both had good experiences with the venue overall. You can always do a lunch reception to cut down the costs and/or have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday. Also, if you keep your guest list low that will help with your budget too. There is definitely no other venue like The Mission Inn. If it is your dream venue you can make it work. You just have to be willing to compromise.

    Ruby-Thanks! I don't mind you asking at all...we are getting married at an art studio in Laguna Beach called Seven Degrees. It is really modern. If you click on the word "Planning" under my wedding ticker there are a few pictures of it in my bio. It is pretty much the polar opposite of The Mission Inn. lol.

    The Mission is is amazing!  My friend was married there and I was in awe of the place.  You don't even need much decorating.

    Sure I will keep you posted. I am the maid of honor. I think her original budget was 15,000 too. But agree with everyone else here. There is no other venue like the mission inn. I am so excited for the wedding. I am trying to loose weight so I look nice in my dress ;)

    I TOTALLY AGREE WITH BRE. YOU ONLY GET ONE WEDDING (AT LEAST YOU HOPE YOU ONLY HAVE ONE,LOL) AND IT SHOULD BE WHAT YOU WANT. YOU DONT WANT TO LOOK BACK AND REGRET NOT GETTING MARRIED THERE IF THATS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT. WE HAD TO CUT THE GUEST LIST AND GET MARRIED ON A FRIDAY NIGHT TO CUT THE COSTS AND ITS WORKED OUT PERFECT.

    I was not impresses- but I guess since I live 2 miles from the Mission Inn and see it on a daily basis- its not that special to me.

    There were just a few things I didnt like.

    One- they will have up to 5 weddings a day- thats crazy to me.

    Two- you only get a changing room for 2 hours. I am having a makeup and hairstylist come and there is no way me and 6 bridesmaids can all get ready in 2 hours.

    Three- I thought the Music Hall smelled like cigars.

    The Mission Inn is beautiful, just wasnt for me I guess.

    I agree with sheenammeder - I photographed a wedding about 2 weeks ago, and the coordinator said they do up to 5 wedding ceremonies a DAY!
    That means, you guys have to be in, do the ceremony, then out... It's a beautiful location. Tons of photo ops.

    But for the ceremony, we forgot some gear in the chapel, and went to get it 40 minutes later, but the chapel was already locked up for another ceremony. :P
    Keep that in mind if you don't like to be rushed.
