Mobile Area Sites/Vendors

Hey ladies!  I am actually trying to assist my bestie in finding a wedding/reception site in the Mobile area...any suggestions?  They are wanting to have the wedding and reception in the same location and do not really like the house style sites because it splits everyone up too much.  She did find a place she really likes, but is having a hard time finding a reasonable vendor to do some piping/draping work at the site.  All the quotes we found were like $5k!  Any suggestions on sites/vendors??

Thanks Ladies!  I used this site when I got married and it was very helpful!!

I am using my church, Dayspring Baptist, for both the ceremony and reception.  They are allowing us to have dancing, we are getting a lighting service to come in, etc.  So it's gonna be a nice modern feel without leaving the church building.  If your friend is Baptist (or at least a Christian) and willing to not have alcohol, I bet Dayspring would let her rent out the church's space.

Depending on their budget, your friend and her FI might want to look into hotels like the Riverview Plaza that have multiple ballrooms - they could rent one for the ceremony and one for the reception.  The concourse at the Fairgrounds has a really large and nice ballroom that can be separated into multiple rooms.  The Mitchell Center has some really nice spaces as well below the main arena.

Also, a Google searched turned up this place that sounds like it could work:  http://www.fitzpenplace.com/weddings.html.

How many guests are they inviting?

We're using Space 301 Art Gallery on Conti Street, downtown. They have a couple different options depending on what size the wedding is- the first floor is huge and can accommodate a whole lot of guests, and the third floor is smaller and more intimate. We're inviting around 175 people, so we opted to use the third floor.

We also looked at the Courtyard Manor: http://www.thecourtyardmanor.com/
And the Museum of Mobile: http://www.museumofmobile.com/index.php
And the Mobile Botanical Gardens: http://www.mobilebotanicalgardens.org/

All of these places can be both ceremony and reception sites. Hope this helps!

USED 5 Rivers Delta and most of the staff was wonderful! Great place on the water. Just make sure you talk to the top manager before the event in order to make it clear that their staff is not eating your food in the buffett line. Also, that the employees dont "pick" flowers out of your arrangements.
It is a State Facility and you think they would worry more about their jobs!

If your wedding date in your profile is correct, I know someone who is getting married there the day after you, haha.
