Bridal Shower

A majority of the guests to the wedding live in numerous other states. Most would have to fly in to attend a shower. Is there a proper way to give a partyless shower?

No. There's not. Either they decline or they fly.

And FWIW, I was asked to attend a 'partyless shower' and the only reason why we gave a gift is because it was family.
