Anyone opt NOT to have a shower?

I'm on the fence due to family issues on both sides and I don't want the unneeded stress. My bridal party really wants to throw one for me, but... I don't know.

    I declined the one that was offered to me, and I didn't miss it at all. 
    What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    Ditto Addie. I declined a total of 3 and didn't miss them at all.

    Partially due to divorced/mixed/out-of-town family issues and partially because I hate opening presents in front of people.

    We are not having any showers either.  We did plan our wedding pretty fast though, in about 3 months.  We were asked by family members but declined due to out of town family, feuding family members and also because I know how expensive and time consuming throwing a shower can be.  I didn't want to put that burden on anyone.  My mom was a little upset but ultimately my FI and I did what made us happy and we haven't missed them at all! :)
