Local DJ Reviews

I'm just completely clueless on how to pick a DJ.  Who are you guys using or who did you use? Positive and Negative comments are welcome!!  Also, how did you pick your DJ?  other than cost, what do you ask them?

I just had a meeting with Elegante Entertainment and I was very happy with his communication skills. My fiance and I booked him that night. He drove half an hour to meet us and spoke with us for 2.5 hours. He helped us design the entire schedule for our wedding and made my fiance realize just how important the DJ was in the wedding.

    I would ask:

    1. Do you include the Ceremony Music (if needed) and is it an extra cost?
    2. Will you introduce the bridal party and the bride and groom into the reception?
    3. Do you walk around the reception and check sound levels during the reception.
    4. Let him know if there are any off-limit songs (like chicken dance or macarena)
    5. Make sure that he will meet with you before the wedding to review your playlist (20 songs/hour) This will assure that he has all the songs you need and will concrete the details.

That's all I can think of now. We are very happy with our DJ and that was our first "check". Hope that helped.

rillarson, thanks for the advice! When is your wedding?  I'm just trying to see how far out I need to book one of these.
