Anyone around?

Hey hey. I know it's kinda early for an evening post but I'm bored. H still hasn't gotten home from a few days ago. I think the pups really miss him because everytime they near a noise in the garage, they jump up and run to the door. Haha. I must not be exciting for them anymore. I'm also really pissed off because I went grocery shopping on base this afternoon. I bought two packs of chicken and a huge pack of pork chops and the bagger never put them in my cart. I didn't realize when I was unpacking but when I went to go cook dinner, I got nothing. I'm pissed because we have to tip the baggers so I gave a $5 tip because it was a huge trip and now I have no meat. Ugh. How was everyone's Friday? What are your weekend plans?

Re: Anyone around?

  • That sucks about the meat Hike.

I am still at work. I am trying to get out of here early. FI is putting his car in a car show this weekend at Knotts Berry Farm. We are staying a couple nights by the park. It is sort a mini staycation. I haven't been to the amusement park in years so it is going to be great.
  • Is that pretty normal, baggers being tipped on the base? I've never heard of that before. My dad's FI shops at the commissary (sp?). I wonder if she has to tip.

I'm just hanging around, watching TV. H is working late tonight so I'm not motivated to do much.

You are brave to go to costco on a Saturday morning. :-)

It's not too far but too late. Our commissary closes at 5 on Friday and I just figured this out. I know it isn't a huge deal but I have been such a slacker with meals lately and I was finally in the mood to cook and really looking forward to one of my recipes.

  • Sesh- We don't HAVE to tip but we are considered assholes if we don't. I am pretty sure they don't get paid by the hour and only get tips so I definitely don't mind it but today I do. :-)

(Also, I'm not sure how that works because I would figure it would be against the law to only work for tips but that's what someone told me when I moved here so I went with it.)

  • Aww, man, that sucks about your meat Hike. I'd be pissed. I admit I've huffed back to the store to complain for less than that. (But I live less than a block from the grocery store, and I'm a cheapskate, so there's that.)

I'm here for a bit. I'm doing some grading and waiting for a meeting to start at 3:30.
  • So, I was going to say that it sucked losing your meat, but it didn't sound right :P

How is your pregnancy treating you (congrats, BTW!)

Holy Crap. We survived the first year!
H and I are waiting on a pizza to be delivered.  On the agenda for tonight is being a couch potato. Hike, I'd call the store tomorrow and let them know you realized they forgot to give you one of your bags and ask for either a refund for the meat or them to give you new packages of meat.
    Posted by ILoveMilkDuds
I'm going to. I am taking partial blame because after I put all my bags in the car, I saw a lady who worked there walking around the parking lot with a bag of food, talking to people packing their cars. I didn't even think twice and drove away. It didn't even hit me until after I realized I didn't put anything in the fridge.

Me too. Although I have noticed I'm way more scared now that I'm older.

  • I'm here.  Just kinda hangin' out.  I spent $98 at Target today to get some essentials that will allow me to "live/camp" in our apartment for a couple of weeks until H gets time off and can go back to Ohio and drive the truck-o-stuff out here.  I think I'm going to go to Ikea tomorrow and get a skillet and a pan.  The ones at Target are expensive.  And I have a Macy's gift card so I'm going to get 2 more place settings of our square every day dishes, and some silverware (which we need anyway).  I wonder if my brother will let me borrow one of his recliners.  But I don't think I want to help him lift/move it.  Hmmm... I'll have to think on this one.

  • Hey, all. I'm waiting for N to get home so we can go out for a date. I'm debating taking the dog on a walk.

I'm totally more afraid of rides now then I was even just a few years ago. And, yes, that fucking log flume thing is terrifying. YOU CAN FALL OUT, FFS. When we went to the water park by N's hometown, I was about to pass out on some of the rides. Loosely flying through the air does not appeal to me.
  • Koda and Nates- It bums me out because I used to LOVE rides that went upside down. Now I sometimes feel sick.

Hi Arwo- I miss you here. :-)

  • Evening ladies. I've been watching the Deadliest Catch marathon on Discovery Channel for the past, oh, 7 hours or so. I've been cleaning the house on commercial breaks, though. Not sure what I want for dinner yet.

Possibly TMI: So, my half marathon was just under two months ago, and I lost a toenail on the second toe on my right foot about 3 weeks ago due to a severe blister I got on that toe. I also had a black toenail on the second to last toe on my right foot, and finally lost the nail on that toe this afternoon. I hate my feet right now.

  • Hey guys, just watching the news at home browsing the boards. I kind of got a kick out of THIS post because of the recent discussions about Mery. H is still working or golfing.

And I totally bailed on my workout today. I HATE working out on Fridays. I usually want to just get home and veg.

I had to have an ingrown removed 3 times before they finally killed the root. I got a messed up pedicure at a place someone recommend to me. I had been getting pedicures since I was like 10 and never had an issue until then. Since I am diabetic they are really on me about my feet. It was so bad after every surgery and during.

Carnivals freak me out because they move from place to place.  That and I saw that cheesy B movie Funhouse and the classic Freaks as a kid and now I think all carnivals are murder machines.

I got my UD primer in today (finally) and these SUPER hot black suede heels with pink platforms. They're gorgeous and comfortable.

YAY for new shoes and makeup. I am trying not to spend so much lately and I haven't bought anything. I didn't get the Cole Haan's either. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-frown.gif" border="0" alt="Frown" title="Frown" />

  • I used to love carnival/amusement park rides. Now they make me sick. They don't scare me (I love the thrill) but holy hera do I come thisclose to barfing. I'm not sure what changed, since I used to be the kid who could ride them back to back to back.
  • Hike - yes.  H brought out some of his essentials (clothes, and random stuff) that would fit in his Envoy when he came out last October.  All that stuff is at my brother's apartment.  I brought the dog and anything I needed (clothes mostly, and a down comforter cause you know.. that's important LOL) and some random stuff like laundry detergent (it was 3/4 full - I wasn't going to throw it away.)  This iswhat I have to live with for probably 3 weeks or so.  I'll pick up some more essentials.
  • Mehg, is that a runner thing? (the nails?) It would freak me out. Does it hurt?

Adorable puppy is back at the guy next door to us.  His name is Finn and he's a Chihuahua/Beagle mix. He is to die for.

dodgers, I'm trying not to spend either, but it's not working. I am returning one pair of shoes and a necklace, though.

  • Koda- Mery's posting style has an animation in my head. I picture her in a Harry Potter cape (I have no idea why), coming into a room, stating her opinion very loudly, and turning on her heel with her cape spinning with her and then leaving. It makes me laugh

Yeah, it's a very common runner ailment. Ultra-marathoners have even gone so far as to have their toenials removed permanently. They don't hurt, even the black toenails. The one on my left foot had a tiny little nail growing back in underneath it (which I painted, lol), but the one on my right foot just has a very thin, sad excuse of nail now. Neither hurt when they popped off, though, thank goodness.
