MOB's frustrating behavior.

This was a rant but I changed my mind, sorry ): 

Mom wants to invite her boyfriend-type-thing whom I really dislike and I'm having trouble finding the words to tell her that I do not want him there.  The rest of my family doesn't want him there either but this seems like the kind of thing she will hold against me.  I just don't know.  I think she's using my wedding as a way to get attention from him because I'm her only child and she's never been married and I know she must be having a hard time with all of this.  Bleh.  I'm sure it will work out in the end, somehow.

    How horrible is this guy?  Is he likely to destroy the wedding or is he just annoying?  If he is just annoying, let her bring the guy and keep the peace.  You don't have to treat him like a parent but just let your mom have a friend.  Think of how you might feel if she was the one getting married and didn't like your boyfriend?  Weddings aren't a time for inflexibility and wall building.  I hope it works out for you.

    I guess he isn't terrible, but a few years back she really ruined him for us when she abandoned all sense of sanity and responsibility to go shack up with him all the time.  They broke up and she made a big dramatic show of it, then she was fine, and now they're back together, but none of my family likes him because of all the crap that happened the first time.  They'll be seriously miffed if he comes.

    She will have lots of other friends and family there and will have plenty to do.  I guess what bothers me most is she just handed me a list of all the people she wants to invite (which was mostly okay - some family, a few of her work friends whom I also know) and there was his name on the list like she assumed I'd be okay with it.  Is it okay for me to feel like she should have asked me?
