Guestbooks

Hi Ladies!  I have a question about guestbooks.  Is it silly to have a guestbook for under 30 people and if you think it is, are there alternatives to the guestbook that would act as a memento for my FI and I from our guests?

Re: Guestbooks

  • For a wedding that size I would just do a photobook as your main guestbook and leave room on the pages for your gusts to sign.

I made a photobook of the 'life' of our relationship (from 2004 up until last month) and will have it at the reception for friends/family to sign with wishes/whatnot. We invited over 300 ppl so we're going to have the traditional gustbook with lines for them to sign as they arrive @ the cermony too, but I liked the thought of having a picture book of our entire relationship with well wishes from all our guests as well!
  • I don't think it's silly to have a guest book at all.  Just cause you're having a small wedding doesn't mean you don't want mementos.

I would do like a photo book or even a photo mat for people to sign though.
  • Were doing a photo booth where they can take silly pictures, print them out and put them in a scrap book where they can write notes as well.  Along the same idea, since you have a small number of guests you could use a polaroid camera so that your guests can see the picture develop right away and could then put those pictures in a scrapbook with their signature and well-wishes, etc.

  • Consider having a guest seating chart and have your guests sign it with warm wishes on your special day, instead of having a guestbook and escort/place cards.
  • I like the idea of cardstock cards that I can scrapbook later.

Some people also get smooth river stones and have guests sign them, then put them in a vase or decorative jar in their house.

I'm also really liking the idea of having them sign a bottle of wine we'll open on one of our anniversaries.

  • Thank you so much for your ideas!  I love them all and I think I will either go with the photomat or something along those lines.
