A little TMI question-any nurses?

I'm feeling awful. I've been in and out of the bathroom for a couple hours now. Took some tums and it did nothing. Then I remembered that I had a few phenergan pills left from when I was sick a couple months ago. Took one but now I need to be sick again. How long do pills take to digest so it doesn't come back up?

Sorry I had to ask this :(

    That made me LOL. I think more, it's a reaction to all the negativity I felt today regarding my douchtwat recruiter and worry that I was going to lose my current job. I haven't stressed about any of the interviews because HEY! I have a job! And then she fuucked me.

    Ditto the 30-min. comment, but - and this might make you squicky - would you consider a suppository for an anti-nausea med? Of course, this will only work if you're being sick in one direction only, but it's definitely an idea and will stay in.

    Poor girl. I hope you feel better soon.

    This obviously won't help this time (and I'm by no means a medical professional or anything) but when I feel really sick, like need-medication-in-my-bloodstream-now sick, I chew the pills. Tastes beyond nasty, but it helps them digest faster.

    Erm...I guess I would consider it. But don't you have to have special pills for that? I don't wanna go to the doctor, just use up my leftovers!

    The last time I was sick, I ended up in the ER. Dehydration. I can't remember ever being in so much pain. I guess I was so dehydrated that my muscles were all cramped up. I couldn't stand, sit, lay down, anything without being in really bad pain.

    You shouldn't need to go to the doctor, LVB, just a CVS or Walgreens or whatever. It's a special pill, but usually available OTC.

    You're totally stronger than I am...I'd be weeping on my bathroom floor by now.

    ETA: I wouldn't want to go that route either, but have in the past for really violent sicknesses. If you can tough it out, go for it. :)

    Me sure to keep drinking fluids. My friend went to the ER after pukeaggedon from that wedding a few weeks ago. I was really dehydrated as well, but not to the point of muscles cramping. I just didn't pee all day and when I finally did it was the color of OJ (Ok I know that was TMI now sorry).

    Ok, I just puked for the first time and I feel a million times better. Maybe it really was just something I ate. Or that pill is fuucking awesome. Either way, I have hope for some sleep tonight!

    Oh, doc said not to drink water? Gatoraide instead?

    Gatorade or other clear fluids. My doctor always swore by flat Coke (not Ginger Ale) and it's always worked like a charm for me. Apple juice can be good too, if you like it.

    :( I don't know anything about the medication question, but I'm sorry you're sick!  I had a pretty bad day too.  I broke a corner off one of my molars this morning, and couldn't get in to see my dentist until tomorrow.  So I am pretty much drinking Orajel right now and crying.

    Gatorade is for electrolyte balance.  You can get Pedialyte too if you're at this for awhile - I think Gatorade can become bad for you eventually.
