I bought my dress at the end of December, but wanted to share some feedback on the places I went shopping. I had three wonderful experiences!!
Arlene's Bridal in Bloomfield - when we first walked in, I was unsure since it felt like I was in someone's basement. But they have a lot of dresses, and I didn't try on a single one over $1,000. My consultant, Allie, was extremely helpful, friendly and honest. She let us look through the racks of dresses so we could see all of the options. We were there on a Tuesday morning and we were the only people there. I tried on dresses for 2 hours, and she pulled many perfect dresses. The downside - they don't let you take pics.
I Do I Do in Morristown - trendy, high-end setup and feel (hardwood floors, modern decor). However, when you try on dresses the main mirror is smack dab in the middle of the store for all to see. They keep the dresses in the back, so you can't flip through them yourselves. One of the owners, Leia, was assisting me but I felt she wasn't really listening to the styles I wanted to try on. That being said, I tried on things that were outside of my comfort zone, and surprisingly liked them. She wouldn't quote pricing as I put the dresses on (and never asked for my budget), but it seemed like most dresses were $2,500 +. They let you take pictures, and they even take their own pictures and email them to you immediately.
Nan Romano in Bedminster - this is where I found my dress! Nan has converted an old victorian house into a bridal salon, with BM and MOB dresses downstairs and bridal upstairs. Smaller collection than most places, but she hand picks stunning dresses. Nan herself was my consultant. I ended up with a Modern Trousseau dress even though I had gone there for a specific Augusta Jones dress. I loved the personal attention here. We were also here for 2 hours, and she opened up especially for us since it was over her Christmas break. They let you take pictures, which helped me decide since it was helpful to see myself on 'film' in the dress.
I had also gone to Kleinfeld, for the experience. My consultant was Erika and she was excellent.
