FI and I have made a BIG choice this week, and could use all your prayers!

A little background - I am an Ovarian Cancer survivor and due to the treatment am no longer able to have children. FI and I looked through a lot of info about different adoption options both private and public and have decided to adopt locally through Children's Aid. We would like to start newborn and the average wait for that is 2-4 years.

Because of this we come to this week's decision... we started the process

I had my first phone interview on Tuesday with a worker and today the package came in the mail with a bunch of forms to fill out, the card of our assigned worker, etc.

We know this is totally what we want to do, and just ask for your prayers that this works out and we can expand our family in the future with a happy healthy baby through this route

We figure we can start now and get paperwork, home assessments, the classes, etc all out of the way before the wedding

I'm very sorry about your situation, but I think it is wonderful that you and your FI are able to do this. And its even greater that you are helping a child. Praying!

I am like bouncing off the walls excited watching the clock, work ends in 35 minutes, and then I can drive home to open the package we got in the mail with FI! Yay!

So excited for you! I believe that God has a special place in his heart for children without parents to take care of them. The Bible talks so many places about how He wants us to care for the orphans. I'm so excited when I see people who are willing and able to give a child a forever family!
