Wine Bottle Cutting

Hey my DIY brides

I am in need of some major help. I have finally pinpointed what I wanted to do for my centerpieces, wine bottles....cut... see picture below. The problem is that we have tried the hot water method with the cold water, it has not worked. I have my heart set on this. We are both Italian and love wine. That being said, is there anyone out there who knows of somewhere we can bring our wine bottles to , to get cut professionally?

That is a beautiful idea! I don't know of anyone, but have you tried calling local vineyards? They just might know of someone or could get you some.

You need a special glass cutter for them... I can't remember where I saw this done but I know it's been done... I'd call some of your local glass companies and see what they have to say. I know when you drill into the backside of them to get the candles in you need a diamond drill bit! HTH

Maybe try contacting the Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts. Perhaps some of the artists there could be of help.

Yes, you need a glass cutter. Along with spraying it with watter so that it doesn't get too hot and shatter. I make decorated wine bottles with lights in them and drill a hole into the back of them to string the lights through.

Go slowly with a glass cutter and spray a lot of water on the area getting cut during the process.
