Re: Wedding Wednesday QOTD

  • what did you change your mind about during your wedding planning?

I originally wanted to DIY all my flowers and make luminarie candle holders, but decided against both.  I don't have time for flowers and I trust my florist.  I also don't have time to be making fussy decor becuase i work full time and my free time is spent packing and mvoing.

</div><div>We completly forgot about favors! We kept going back and forth on if we wanted to do them or not and by the time it got time for the wedding,we never did what we said we were going to do. We had said all along we wanted to do a donation to a charity and we still want to do that. I think what convinced us not to do a "favor" was we went to a wedding a couple months before ours and they had tons of favors left overs, no one took the coozies and we wanted to make sure the $$ we spent was money well spent.

  • I changed my mind about my dress. I had originally bought this ball gown that, after I had it, just didn't look like "me" at all. I ended up exchanging it for a lacy trumpet gown, and i'm really glad I did.
  • agape: i also changed my dress!
  • I change my mind on a few things! No favor. Also on the size- I'm going slightly larger. And changed my mind on the flowers- instead of red and orange flowers, I'm going with orange and white for the bridesmaids, and just orange for me. Pops of red will show up elsewhere. I think that's it...

  • I thought I wanted I trumpet style dress until I saw it on me. It did not flatter me at all. I ended up falling in love with a ballgown style dress which surprised me a lot

  • I'm sure there are plenty of things that I have changed my mind on, but the biggest thing is probably doing a first look. I never would have dreamed that I would want to do that. However, I was talking to my F the other night and we came to the conclusion that it's the right thing for us. I'm really excited about it. Not sure how my mom is going to react when I tell her, though. I'm sure I'm going to hear about it. She's usually supportive, but some things are "tradition" and I have a feeling this is something she will have a hard time understanding. :-)

  • We were going to do placecards/escort cards and assigned seating. Instead to make it easier on me as we got closer to the date, I opted for a seating chart and assigned tables so I wouldn't have to do place cards. Its a buffet dinner so its not like we needed them to designate meals or anything!

  • Dress here too.  First we were planning a very different kind of ceremony, so the dress I wanted was very Juliet with the split skirt, guazy long sleeves, similar to this

Then we found out we had to make a venue change and it changed the whole feel of our wedding so i started looking for ball gowns but I was adamant that I did not want a strapless dress.

Guess what I eneded up with?  Yup - a strapless dress.

I swear we are, like, twins or something.

I had a huge pick-up ball gown that required a big poofy crinoline and I could barely move in it.  I ended up buying a sort of dropped-waist A-line instead.

  • What did you change your mind about during your wedding planning?

We're still early in the planning stages... but I've changed my mind on pretty much everything except the church and the groom. :P
