December 2010 Weddings

What a weekend....

So, I had my first fitting this weekend.  I don't really know what I was expecting, but what an awesome feeling to get to try on my dress!  I had all of my accessories and put it all together and I can't wait!  I found a veil, that I absolutely love, it's an ivory fingertip length veil with a scalloped edge and crystals.

I would show pictures, but my dress is too big.  Which I should be excited about because I've lost weight since then, but it kinda stresses me out.  They are going to take it in a good bit because I told them I wanted to lose a little more, so I guess we'll just have to see. I also got my rehearsal dinner dress, it's red!  I don't have any red dresses and I absolutely loved this one!
I got my first place setting of china on Friday, I squealed a little when I opened it and my BMs sent out invites for the b-party.  I feel like everything is starting to happen so fast and I can't wait!  I hope everyone else had a great weekend :)

Re: What a weekend....

  • WOW Lauren!! That's AWESOME!  Didn't it go by really fast?!?  I was kind of bumming when the first fitting ended (we're a week apart!)  My dress fit like a glove because I purposely ordered it a size down (not smart but I'm kinda dumb!) but the boobage area was too big and has to be adjusted.

Good thing you brought all the accessories.  I was doubting my earrings before the fitting, but they were perfect!  What do yours look like???  Are you doing a necklace and bracelet?  I'm still on the fence about bracelets because the tend to catch on everything.  I don't want to jack up my dress...

So happy that you found a rehearsal dinner dress.  I've been thinking about what I'm going to do for that and I'm leaning toward a FIERCE ensemble with pants.  Total opposite of the dress.  Red rocks!  I have one red dress that I got from T.J. Maxx.  I plan on wearing it to my 2nd shower because my Greek Grandmother-in-law's favorite color is RED!  She once put a red light in her window, and my FI had to tell her what that meant! LOL!  She's too precious, I love my new Yaya!!!  LOVE!

I guess TGT is working out for the best.  I have to get back to the gym after my week off.  I was lazy last week, recovering from the festivities.  My arms will be like Michelle Obama's.  They, most certainly will!

I'm so happy for you.  I'm totally watching Live! From the Red Carpet on E.  Trying to get some make-up inspiration.

    Cheers!!! Mwah!

  • Lauren, Yeahhh!!! So excited you found a veil and took a first look at the whole bridal ensemble! You really did lose weight, girl! Amazing feeling....the 2nd fitting will feel much better once the dress is smaller to fit your new bridal body. I still can't wait to see pics at some point.

Also exciting about the China. Whoo hoo! It is coming so quickly!

Portia- I want Obama arms too. I guess I better hit the gym then, too.

    Have a great week all!
  • Congrats!  I got my dress back yesterday & its fits like a glove!!  It really revitalized the planning bug for me, as it was great to see the whole outfit together.and I picked up a rehearsal dress as well!  My FMIL found a great little gold/bronze sequin & chiffon number for me to wear and its sooo cute!!  Best part?  I found to shoes to match for $20!!! LOL

No matter where I roam, I'll always be a California Girl at heart!
  • Very nice!!! Sounds like things are moving right along for everyone. My dress also fits perfectly, the only tailoring I'll need is the bustle, french style probably. I ordered my garter this weekend, so yay! My something blue! My something old and something borrowed is a necklace of my mother's. It's a delicate silver necklace shaped like a ribbon tied into a bow, with small diamonds, and it was my great great grandmother's. I didn't even know we had anything like that in the family, an heirloom, so I'm excited for it! And now, of course the dress and the shoes. :) Now all I need is the bra and crinoline!
  • That's awesome :)  I know how excited you are!  I can't believe how fast time is flying by!!!
