*lauralaur* and other girls with fringes

Or, umm, as you call them- bangs.

I'm trying to decide what sort of fringe to get (if any). Laura, your hair looks like what I'm after in your bio- do you have other pictures of it when it wasn't pulled back for your wedding so that I can get an idea of what it looked like normally?

And other girls with fringes- should I go with side-swept, or solid? I am so unsure about all things hair.

Re: *lauralaur* and other girls with fringes

  • I think you would look really cute with bangs (fringes) straight across.

I've had the side-swept ones for a few years now, and I'm still pleased with them. They're nice because when you want to have them, they're easy to style, and when you're feeling lazy, they're easy to pin back.
  • A couple side-swept pics:

    and a little longer...(and blonde)

I'm looking for ones where I had straight across bangs.  They were cute, but harder to deal with if I didn't want them down.

  • I'm a big fan of gently angled, side-swept bangs. I think they're flattering on so many face shapes, and they're easy to work with.

I think that blunt-cut bangs can be wonderful if you're going for a retro or gamine look, but you really have to commit to styling them every day, or they can get funky.

By the way, HI SUN!!! :D
  • I vote for side swept, if you're not sure. If you change your mind, you can always get them re-cut more blunt.

But this is just one new girl's opinion. Hi, I'm Toni!

  • Thanks girls!

and HI POLI! sorry, ran off- last minute packing for HONOLULU! Exciting!

Haircut at 2 today (2.5 hours away). TR, I really like the look of the longer one... I am not sure if I should go blunt to start and the let it grow long, or ease myself into it with getting the long side swept to start. I would ideally like a cut that I could wear straight or wavy (happy to straighten the fringe, but over straightening my whole hair every day, even though the GHD is wonderful!) but I'm not sure if that exists... I guess I will go and see what the hairdresser thinks... !

  • Is the rest of yours layered, Laura? Mine currently isn't, but I got the fringe and I'm getting used to it (just posted it on SB: http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_snarky-brides_got-banged) although it appears no one is here now!
