Please help this Oklahoman out....

Hello everyone,
I was born in New Orleans (GO SAINTS!) but have lived in Oklahoma (GO THUNDER) since I was little. ALL of my family on both sides are from and still live in New Orleans. I want to add some New Orleans touches to my wedding. So I was thinking of having the bridal party do a "second line" type of entrance into the hall. So I have a few questions: Should all the women carry a umbrella or parasol? Or just the bride? Do I get umbrellas or paper parasols? Is there a version of "When the Saints go marching in" that you recommend?

    I'm doing something similar.  I made umbrellas for the girls, and hankies for the guys.  I do have great song recommendations....we're using a second line band.

    If you do something special for the girls, you can use it as part of their thank you gift.

    I think Louis Armstrong's version of "When the Saints Go Marching In" is my fav.

    Having all the women carry an umbrella/ parasol will get expensive if you buy matching ones, and if you don't, it'll be kinda funny looking with different colors I think. Esp since most people have blah colors like black umbrellas. I've seen lots of cute matching white and black umbrellas for the bride and groom on Etsy. I think you can get them customized with names, fleur de lis, sequins, glitter, lace or maribou feathers, just about anything you can think of:) Hankies with a little fleur de lis embroidered on them would be cute, and probably more cost effective than umbrellas, depending on the size of your wedding.

    Also, I hope FSU beats OU tomorrow...LOL

    annodam, I know I know. The campus was pretty blue on Monday. Oh well, we played a decent enough game.

    Now if only my fantasy football weren't a complete disaster too.....
