Re: WP Tuesday

  • 1. Look out your nearest window. What do you see? Bunch of trees and some sort of electrical towers.  It's actually a pretty nice view.

    2. What kind of car do you drive? A 1999 Mercury Sable, currently christened Frankencar

    3. Do you prefer curtains, blinds or shades over windows? Good heavy curtains, usually.

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going? Pierponts or Le Fou Frog or some other super expensive restaurant in town we haven't had the spare budget or the occasion to try yet

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color? Usually black, but I'm not picky.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • 1.  Look out your nearest window.  What do you see? Rain.  Lots of rain.

    2. What kind of car do you drive?  We don't own a car (hurrah!)

    3. Do you prefer curtains, blinds or shades over windows? Any are fine.

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going? Morimoto.  7th and Chestnut, Philadelphia.

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color?  Blue.  I also like "fine," not "medium" ball point.
  • Joy - have you been to Morimoto's?  That is on our list of restaurants to try.

  • 1.  Look out your nearest window.  What do you see? a gas station

    2. What kind of car do you drive? ford escape

    3. Do you prefer curtains, blinds or shades over windows? curtains

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going? to the nearest big city for sushi

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color? typically blue, fine point pens. Lately (since addressing my invitations) I've been writing with a black gel type pen medium point. It feels all sorts of wrong!

    1.  Look out your nearest window.  What do you see? Right now I can't see my nearest window because there's boxes in front of it.

    2. What kind of car do you drive? 2012 Camry LE. Love the car but kind of a sore spot haha! A week after buying a brand new car, someone rear ended me HARD and it was like $8000 worth of damage (on their insurance's dime). I finally have it back and it looks like new :)

    3. Do you prefer curtains, blinds or shades over windows? I like the long curtains that go down to the floor. I loathe mini blinds.

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going? I'd like to fly out to Italy and have some awesome real Italian food.

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color? I always grade in purple or green pen, so probably either of those.

    1. A state park. It's really pretty!

    2. Honda CRV. I like it, but the gas mileage is killing me lately, so I am probably trading it in for a Civic HF in the relatively near future.

    3. I like those fancy custom plantation style shades. Sadly, most apartments do not come with these.

    4. To The Slanted Door in San Francisco. It is hands down the best food I have ever eaten.

    5. I prefer black. My new boss requires blue though, so blue is growing on me.

    4.  I was thinking of Galatoire's in the French Quarter, NOLA, but the idea of going to Italy for Italian food sounds Amazing!
    5.  I like to write in black ink.  Pretty much standard for medical stuff.

....three times.  We like to eat.

Get the chef's sampler platter of sushi for an appetizer!

My husband really wants to go to Vetri's.  We just went to Supper (yum!) and we're going to Osteria for my birthday!

Where have you been that you really like??
  • 1.  Look out your nearest window.  What do you see? All the road construction in front of my house. We live on a state highway and they're totally redoing it, water and sewer and everything. It's all kinds of a mess, and my house has been dusty as heck since April!

    2. What kind of car do you drive? 2004 Ford Taurus. Total mommy car.

    3. Do you prefer curtains, blinds or shades over windows? Shades or curtains, depending on the room. I love my light blocking shades in my bedroom!

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going? Somewhere in Vegas, probably Firefly, maybe the new Gordon Ramsey restaurant.

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color? I like crazy colored felt-tip pens

I like Parc on Rittenhouse Square and DH and I both love Estia - incredible Greek food.  The bar there is also top notch.

I took DH to Butcher and Singer for his 40th b-day and was impressed with it.  When I made the reservation I wanted to make sure they gave me the check and not him because it was his b-day.  "Oh, okay.  We'll be sure to do something special for him!"  Me" You aren't going to sing are you?" Him (voice dropping a register or two "No ma'am.  We are not TGIFridays."

Bahahahahaha!  I'll remember this!  My husband hates the singing on his birthday.

I'm a fan of Parc, Estia, and Butcher & Singer!  Were you here when it was Striped Bass?  ::sigh:: It was great.

Have you been to Mixto?  11th and Pine.  The food is as good as Alma de Cuba but the price is cheaper.  No reservations, though.  Pumpkin, a wonderful BYOB, is also right down the street!

No. I've only been here for about 2 1/2 years.  We've tried and liked Fork on Market near 2nd.  Gigi's on Market we loved the first time we were there but the service the second time was horrible.  DH really like Cuba Libre (?) but I haven't tried it yet.  I also liked Twenty Manning Grill but DH wasn't as big of a fan as I was - although he did agree that the "goodnight kiss" dessert martini there is worth going back for.  There are a couple of other places we''ve liked but I can't think of their names right now.

    2. I drive a Kia Forte. I love it! In a few years, I'll probably upgrade to an SUV.

    3. Blinds and curtains

    4. Panera! I've been craving it lately. I live in a small town, and the most exciting restaurant we have here is Applebees.

    5. I write in black ink. I prefer it for when I'm signing things at work. Most people in the medical field use black ink.

    1.  Look out your nearest window.  What do you see?
Our backyard and New Haven Harbor right past it.

    2. What kind of car do you drive?
A 2005 Hyundai Elantra named Celeste. When I was dating FI and he told me he's always named his cars too, I knew he was the one. ;)

    3. Do you prefer curtains, blinds or shades over windows?
I don't really like anything over windows in "public" rooms like kitchens and living rooms. One of the first things we did when we moved into my grandmother's house was take down the curtains. In the bathroom and bedroom, I like blinds.

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going?
Ti Amo in Montreal. Nothing fancy, just simply delicious.

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color?
    I prefer blue ink.

    4. You have an unlimited budget and unlimited time to go to lunch today, where are you going?
A sidewalk cafe in Paris or New York.  I don't care about the food, but it's such a pretty day and I want to sit outside and people watch.

    5. When you are writing (actual pen to paper) do you have a preference for one particular ink color?
I'm psycho for blue.  I have a difficult time writing with blank ink.  I think it's a lawyer thing.
