I'm back from Hawaii! If anyone is considering a Hawaiian honeymoon, do it! We had the best time, and definately plan to go back.
So the big day: our wedding went great. There were a few things that got messed up, but most of it I didn't notice until someone (usually my mom) pointed them out.
The ceremony went really well. Chris had a hard time with the repeating part because he was too nervous to pay attention, and that got a good laugh out of everyone.
After the ceremony, we did some pictures both inside and outside at the church. Then, since it was such a gorgeous day, we decided to stop at the lake and do some more pictures there. I haven't seen any of these yet, and I can't wait to see how they turned out.
When we got to the reception, Chris and I did our first dance right after the wedding party was announced because we wanted to get it over with. I was a little tipsy from drinking 3/4 a bottle of champagne in the limo on the way there and ended up serenading Chris through the whole dance. Soon after our dance, we sat for dinner to be served. The food was really good, and we had lots of compliments on it. People were happy to have food served at a wedding that was still hot, instead of something dried out and room temperature which is sometimes the case at a large event.
After dinner, my sister (MOH) tried to give her toast but was too choked up to really get anything out. Even though no once could really understand her, she had other people in tears and it was really sweet.
As for the best man... I posted a thread awhile back on the WP forum about him. If any of you are interested,
http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_wedding-party_very-different-man-problem Instead of a speech, he performed a song that he wrote for "us." As he was singing it, it became very clear that he wrote this as a love song for Chris. It was really akward, and even though the guests don't know the whole situtation, a lot of them picked up on it and made comments to us later on.
After all that, the rest of the night was mostly dancing and talking with guests. Everyone had a really great time, and most of our guests stayed until the end of the night.
Overall, the day went just as I had hoped. I'm so happy with how things turned out and really thankful to all of our friends and family that spent the day with us.
Edit: Sorry I don't have any pics, the only ones I have seen are the ones friends have posted on facebook. If you want to facebook stalk my tagged pictures, feel free to add me! Rachael Iannapollo
