Oh man definitely dont want a funeral song. I did find these songs..

Yahweh, You are Near - Soo sweet and beautiful
Table of Plenty- I always loved the upbeat nature of this song and the "joy" feeling i get from it (Probably my communion song)
Lord, I lift your name on high- again super fun and makes you want to move to the beat
I will choose Christ
I am the Bread of Life-beautiful chorus too
Be not afraid, I go before you always

If you find anything else too let me know too. Ive been trying to find the hymm book online but cant find it anywhere!  Other ladies, please feel free to add your favorite songs from mass here too. I forgot how many good ones are out there.

We had a trad Irish group play at the Mass, along with a cantor & piano for the "mass parts".    The songs we chose (other than communion) were at least familiar tunes, and everyone was easily able to sing and follow along!

I included the lyrics for the three songs, too.

    Prelude
    Haste to the Wedding
    Carolins Ramble to Cashel
    Madame Cole
    Blarney Pilgrim
Seating of Mothers Sliabh Na Mban
    Bridal Party:Si Beg Si Mhor
Bridal Procession Give Me Your Hand
Gathering song God in the Planning and Purpose of Life (Tune: Slane)Responsorial Psalm Psalm 128: Blest are those who love you, happy those who follow you, blest are those who seek you, O God.
    Gospel Acclamation "Alleluia"- Celtic Alleluia
Preparation and Presentation of the Gifts INSTRUMENTAL
    Sanctus (Holy, Holy) Celtic Sanctus
Great Amen- Haas, Mass of Light
Communion  “When This Day is Done”  Liam Lawton
Devotion to Mary “Ave Maria” Bach
Recessional  “Onward to the Kingdom” David Haas,( Tune of Maire’s Wedding)

    God in the Planning
God, in the planning and purpose of life,
Hallowed the union of husband and wife:
This we embody where love is displayed,
Rings are presented and promises made.

Jesus was found, at a similar feast,
Taking the roles of both waiter and priest,
Turning the worldly towards the divine,
Tears into laughter and water to wine.

Therefore we pray that his spirit preside
Over the wedding of bridegroom and bride,
Fulfilling all that they've hoped will come true,
Lighting with love all they dream of and do.

Praise then the Maker, the Spirit, the Son,
Source of the love through which two are made one.
God's is the glory, the goodness and grace
Seen in this marriage and known in this place.

    When this day is done
Refrain: I will thank the Lord, deep within my heart.

And I will thank the Lord for such a gift as you are.
Two hearts that speak now as one, when this day is done.

And whoever could know what our future will hold.
The blessings that our God will send.

    We are strangers no more as tomorrow unfolds;
We find comfort in God as our friend.

Though dark be the night, when we fear losing sight
We wonder from where comes the day,
We are never alone, for the Lord makes his home,

In the hearts that are seeking love’s way.

And when we grow old and our story is told
and our memories are stored away,
God will seek out each face and find us a place
In a home where love bids us stay.
    Onward to the Kingdom
    Refrain: Sing we now, and on we go;
    God above and God below;
Arm is arm, in love we go
    Onward to the kingdom.
    1. Star above to show the way,
Through the night and in today,
With the light we won't delay
    Onward to the kingdom.
    2. Come now sisters, brother all,
Time to heed the Lord's call,
    We will travel standing tall
    Onward to the kingdom.
    3. In the promised land we'll be,
One with God, where all are free,
The deaf will hear, the blind will see
    When we reach the kingdom.

Yahweh cannot be sung at mass anymore. The words in the music issue have changed it to "O lord". ..you can also change it to Father. However, people will sing "yahweh" from memory.

"Glory And Praise To Our God" (Dan Schutte) is a nice song - I find the chorus to be uplifting.  "Glory and praise to our God/Who alone gives light to our days/Many are the blessings He bears/To those who trust in His ways."
