Where is everyone at in their checks? I can't quite say we have a check on this yet, but we started looking at invitations last night. I still have to figure out flowers. That is driving me crazy. I know what I want, but I don't know how I want them.

If you are using a florist, I suggest setting up a meeting. I had a really rough idea of what I wanted and our consultant made that come to life in a way I deinitely could not have done.

We have started looking at invites, but nothing is concrete quite yet.

We are not using a florist. We are going to Hobby Lobby and getting flowers. I want to do them myself.

Agreed, go to a florist and they'll help you out. Be sure to meet with few before deciding on anything. I had no idea what I wanted until I met with two and saw their pictures. Right now I need to confirm my make up artist and hair stylist. We also need to come up with a play list which will be kind of difficult for us since we are deaf! That's all I can think of right now, we got a lot of things done already.

Yes go to the florist because they can stand there and put an arrangement together for you and you can see up close if that is what you really want, or they might have a better idea that you like. I got a good number of checks on my list.

Just browse google images for inspiration! :o) Maybe buy a few Hobby Lobby flowers and do some trial runs?

As far as our checks go,

Bakery: Done Reception Venue: Done Photography: Done

We're still missing a ceremony site - which is a big one (though I have a place in mind at least), DJ, and a dress. The other missing things I'm not wildly concerned with.

I just finished and stuffed my invitations this week! I'm so glad to have that out of the way! No idea what is next... Makeup and hair trials maybe? I feel like I need to see my dress on me first, but that probably won't happen until march or April.

I have everything basically done except bus transportation for our guests, his ring, favors, attendent gifts, and my jewelry and shoes. I have ideas on everything I think at this point. We are mainly just waiting for our invitations to come in to work on those and the programs we could start working on.

I wanted to post a timeline post with where everyone is and what they have planned for the future. I discovered I was kind of behind as far as dress shopping goes, but you ladies got me on that and now I have a dress (no ordering necessary).

My checks are: dress, venue, officiant, ceremony music, caterer/bar, photographer

Here's what I have planned for 2012:

Jan - research cakes and flowers (no idea when to book - it's all DW!)
Feb - design invite with graphics designer friend, start personal decor DIY projects?
March - DIY decor projects?
Apr - figure out ring and outfit for FI, send out invites? It'll be 2.5 months from RSVP date for a DW.
May - continue with personal toches on decor for venue?
June - engagement photos and bridal photos

As far as the big stuff goes, we've done ceremony site, reception venue (which includes food), band, dress, veils, flowers, and photographers. My next steps will be save the dates and finding bridesmaid dresses.

I just found out that I can have my invitations printed through VP for as much as it was going to cost me just for the fancy paper I wanted for invitations. So I'm probably going to get those printed up in the next month instead of doing them myself, the only difference being they won't be square, they'll be rectangular and I still can have the hydrangea put in the middle like I wanted.

Then I still need to bring in a deposit to the florist and meet with the bakery that my fiance wants. We were going to do a 4 tier cake for 150 people, but now I think we're just going to do a 3 tier cake for 75 and have sheet cake in the back to make up the difference. Then I need to get on my bridesmaids to have them order their dresses, get the tuxes figured out. Figure out wedding bands. (The one we got my fiance was to small and because of the holiday we kept forgetting to return it, so we're just going to sell it and buy another one. Luckily it was cheap enough.)

I'm behind on finding the dj, that one's giving me a headache.

I want to look for rings today or tomorrow. We might order them from a well-known online store, but I want to try on different widths. Next week, I'll be dress shopping with my mom. In January, we'll book the tickets for our honeymoon and rent a car, and start planning hotels from there.

Then there's so much left to do: writing the ceremony, thinking about our decoration, invitations, deciding on a hairstyle...

Basically what I have now is a venue, caterer, photographer and an ice cream cart. And lots of inspiration and ideas. Sounds like I haven't been doing a whole lot over the last months...
