Crystal Brook Farm wedding venue

I am really interested in learning more about the crystal brook farm venue. I have tried calling twice and have not been able to get anyone to answer the phone yet. Does anyone have any information on this wedding venue? (Like how many guests it holds, if they have their own caterers, approximate price to rent the barn, etc) Any information would be helpful. I am leaning  towards a wedding here (if i can get a hold of the people) or the Brookside Farm in Louisville ohio. Any suggestions?

Re: Crystal Brook Farm wedding venue

  • I am having mine at Brookside. I have read on the boards and hear stories from my caterer and they guys from Brookside that Crystal Brook is very hard to get a hold of and even after you book with them they are still very unreliable and hard to get a hold of. If you cant even get someone on the phone now then in my honest opinion they dont deserve your business. The guys at Brookside are awesome and it is really beautiful. I highly recommend them

I'm having mine at Brookside too, I tried getting a hold of Crystal Brook Farm a couple of months ago, and they never called me back.

@Kmn0305 We haven't decided on a caterer yet, we are still meeting with some and trying to find the best option. If you don't mind me asking, who have you booked with?
  • Thank you both so much for the input. Brookside emailed me back saying they only had one weekend left in may 2013 (which is the date I'm leaning towards). How many people does it approx fit? I think i'll have about 150-200 people. Also, are there any places to stay near by for my guests? I asked Brookside for information (prices, caterer suggestions, and capactiy and they told me to come visit. It's just hard because I'm in college right now and working on the weekends.
  • We went with Taste of Excellence. I am from the Akron area but live in Strongsville now which is where Taste of Excellence is. We had our tasting and everything was amazing. Everyone I have been in contact with there, esp. Stephanie, is amazing and very friendly. They have done weddings there before so they know what to expect. Hope that helps!
  • Sorry I forgot to answer your questions too.
The barn can fit like 300 people so you will be fine there. They are hotels nearby... I think like 10 minutes away. We are going to actually save up and provide a shuttle for guests. My biggest thing is making sure people dont have to worry about not drinking just because they want think they have to drive home.
  • Crystal Brook costs $1800.  You are also in charge of hauling in all the tables and chairs (set-up and take-down).  My fiance's brother had his wedding there two years ago and said it was a lot of extra work.  I called Brookside Farm today and was bummed to hear that the only Saturday they had left wasn't until November 2, 2013.  I had my hopes set on that place!  I can't believe it books so quickly.  Has anyone visited Botzum Farmstead?  I really don't want to move my wedding to October 2014!
  • @jmn9ua WOW! I booked with Brookside at the end of December for my August 2013 wedding and they only had about 5 Saturdays booked at the time. That's crazy how fast they booked up.

Conrad Botzum really doens't compare to Brookside, but there are other barn type places out there that are nicer than Conrad. If you haven't looked at Happy Days Lodge you should. And definitely look at: Quailcrest Farms in Wooster; http://www.flickr.com/photos/mercytriumphsjudgment/sets/72157605922056699/with/2628407100/ and http://www.quailcrest.com/events.htm ; Mapleside Farms in Brunswick, http://www.linczakphoto.com/blog/?p=2834 ; and Stow Heritage Barn, http://www.stow.oh.us/index.php search for rentals or barn in the right hand nav.

Thanks for the wonderful info!  Yes, I can't believe it books so quickly considering that they also <strong>do not</strong> advertise.  We went for a visit this past Friday.  It's a great place!  I will look into your other suggestions too, thanks again!
  • How much does it cost to rent at Brookside?

  • I called Brookside and am going to look there tomorrow actually and they are completely booked for 2013, you have to schedule for 2014 unless you want friday or sunday wedding. The price is really high to be honest, its $4300 for a saturday wedding but doesn't include catering, dj, photographer...nothing really.  Just includes tables, chairs, security guard, bartender, and parking attendents. They also charge additional for outside wedding.  Is this average for barn weddings?? I also went to Conrad & Botzum and they have nothing open for 2013 either but are cheaper at $2200 but that doesn't include tables or chairs or anything else, just the venue.  Any ideas of barn venues that run cheaper??
  • Which venue did you end up going with? I'm also looking into all of the same places but having no luck
