Unity candle lighting?

I am planning on having my mom and my FIs mom light the taper candles and then of course we will light the unity candle. What is the commonly used device to light them? I keep thinking a lighter seems out of place but matches can be tricky. What is typically used?

    How about having another candle nearby that they can use to light their wooden tapers?  They can blow that candle out after theirs are lit.

    My venue has very strick rules about lighting candles, they do not allow you to use one candle to light another (not even if you are doing the unity candle) so check with your venue if they have any rules or suggestions about what to do.
