japanese straightening but now want curly

my hair is naturally frizzy/curly. i got the japanese straightening in june '09 so, its half out.l  can curl my hair but the curls come out after a couple of hours. i want to do the half up/half down look with curls. how can i accomplish this?? ive asked 3 hair salons and all tried but didnt succeed in keeping the curls in.

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i would use a setting lotion like lot of body and set your hair on perm rods, I'd also set your hair alot tighter then you want your curls to be, hang out under a dryer and let it completly dry, then let the rollars become completely cool to the touch and then remove them and break up the curls with your fingers, then use a touchable hold hairspray. by using the smaller size, heating and cooling the hair thouroughly and taking it from wet to dry, you work a temporary moleculer change on the hair
