Wedding Invitations & Paper

Who are you using to print your invites?

My wedding is next May, but I've had invitations on the brain for a while now. I want to design our own and then have someone print them for us. Has anyone here used Vistaprint or 123print? Also, does anyone have any tips on designing them? How do I make sure that the resolution will be right?

I used Vistaprint for all of my wedding stationary.  I used one of their own designs and had all my stationary the same.  I'm not very creative so this worked great for me.

  • Vistaprint is great for budget friendly invites, but I don't think they are great if you re designing your own.   I uploaded a photo for our save the dates and it was a pain in the butt to get the picture to size correctly and get the resolutions right so VP would be "ok" with it.

they do have a ton of different styles though, and their invites are very high quality.  Weddingpaperdivas were very nice too!

  • I used Exclusively Weddings.

  • I will be using vistaprint, I have used them for business cards and for invitations and thank you cards for my engagement party and was extremely happy!

  • Arabella Papers, through a local stationer. It seems like Vista Print is all the rage nowadays, but I really liked being able to work with a designer one on one and see things in person. Just becaue it's not DIY or online, doesn't mean it can't be affordable and custom, ya know?
  • Vistaprint.  I used a groupon & saved a fortune because they gave me an add'l 30% off & free shipping.  I was able to customize everything I wanted & was very pleased w/ the result.  I looked into using a local company but the prices were high & I'd rather put the money towards the bar!
  • I used Vista Print they were awesome and very willing to help!

  • We used Gotprint.com. They did a great job and the prices were very reasonable.

  • We used zazzle.com for DD"s invites. They turned out gorgeous. We had an issue with them sending the wrong envelopes and their customer service people were awesome! Prices were great, too. We upgrade to a metallic paper and really they look amazing.

I have also used Vistaprint for other events. If you use their designs, it is easy-peasy. If you want to upload a photos or image, it needs to be fairly high resolution. If you do an entire design and want to upload it, it can be a real PITA. However, their stuff is nice and esp if you watch for specials or get a Groupon, super reasonable.

Best of luck and happy planning!

  • We used Wedding Paper Divas and are very happy with the results. They had a ton of designs and the option to be customized to match your colors. They also have sales and discount codes which made it pretty affordable.

  • We used Vistaprint for our Save the Date's and invites.  For the STD's we uploaded our own design.  It can be a bit tricky, but it was worth it in the long run to get one that was just us.  For the invite we took one of their designs and customized it.  Changed the colors, the wording, what not.  Got a really good deal on a whole package, so we got coordinated invites, RSVP cards, thank you cards, escort cards, and evelopes.  I highly recommend them.

  • I used PrintPlace.com to print them,  and have always been satisfied with the quality and speed of service for the price. I would recommend them for printing.
  • Zazzle, zazzle, zazzle!!! They are absolutely amazing. They have thousands of invitations that you can customize, or you can create your own from scratch, which is what we did. My mom hand drew a design (which I'm going to try and find a picture of and attach) and used that on the back. If you design them, you can wait and get a great deal. We ordered back in December with a code for 75% off, so we got 150 invitations for about $60 bucks. Unfortunately, Vanderbilt and the Florida Gators are having a football game directly across the street from that venue on my wedding day, so we had to change venues. We called Zazzle and they said no problem, keep the invites, we'll refund your money.
After a couple of different changes, we decided to have the wedding at my parents house. We were re-wording the invitation and managed to change the size to the next size larger. We got this set of invitations at 50% off, but when they came in, they were the same size as an iPad!!!! Yet again, we called Zazzle, and they immediately gave us credit, yet again. We finally got the invitation right and got another 50% off. They were wonderful and I highly recommend! We also ordered our rehearsal dinner invites from Zazzle as well.
