Wedding Dress?

Hi Ladies! 

Please tell me that I'm NOT the only one who doesn't have a dress yet for our May 2013 wedding? 

Well today I went to two places and....welll....lets just say that they were both awful to an extent. The first appt was scheduled for 10am. I get there and they tell me that I missed my appt and it was scheduled for 9am. Mind you I drove an hour to this appt. Come to find out they wrote my cell number down wrong and supposedly left me a message yesterday. WRONG! So the consultant tells me that she doesn't have time for me, but can take me upstairs real quick to show me some dresses. UMMMM WTF! I've never tried on dresses and I need to figure this sh!t out now. Everything ended well with that appt. 

On to appt #2...what a flipping nightmare. The bridal consultant tells me immediately that they don't have the style dress that I'm looking for and I need to go browse the racks myself since I don't know what I want. OK thanks, will do. I pull a dress (out of my comfort zone) and we go in the dressing room. After I try it on and decide it's not for me the consultant looks me in the face (in the mirror) and says "You weren't going to try anymore on right because we need this room". Couldn't freaking believe it. I left crying.

    OMG that's horrible, I would be writing a complaint to both those companies! I promise there are other places that will offer amazing experience.

    One place I went to I had horrible experience as well I was in and out in under 30 min.

    Go make more appts you will find your dress and you will know it.

    When I went dress shopping I also had a awful experience. Don't let those 2 places ruin your shopping experience make  another appointment with a different dress shop and just go from there. I am sorry your first shopping experience did not go the way you planned.

    My first day of dress hunting had a ton of horrible places too!  Don't worry, it can only get better :)

    Aww I'm so sorry to hear this. My eperience wasn't anything like this. I started out going ot David's Bridal, not expecting to like anything there at all, but I actually found two dresses I liked! I showed them pictures of dresses I liked and everything the consultant pulled matched that.

    Then I had an appointment the next day at a local bridal store with my mom, sister and best friend. I loved everything the consultant pulled and I really liked my consultant. Everyone got to sit on a nice couch while I was getting changed. The "one" was the second dress I tried on, but they still had me try on a few more to be sure. I tried on an all lace dress just for fun last and I almost loved it as much as the dress I picked but I would need to lose a few lbs for it to look perfect so I picked the other.

    I hope you find another place that will give you a similar experience! I'm sure you will :)

    I'm sorry to hear that.  It goes to show that this is a BUSINESS and these 'constltants' are looking for sales!!  I had a similar experience at DB.  The consultant was into the multiple appointments at one time....running from one dressing room to another.   I then went to a smaller Bridal Shop.  The owner gave me the one on one attention I needed.  I found my gown!!  I LOVE it and the experience she is continuing to give me.  I ordered my gown in April and she advised it will take 6-8 months to come in.  It should be here by Dec 18.  I am so excited and you will be too once you find a Bridal Shop that will give you the service you're looking for.

    I agree... don't let it ruin your experience! I'm sure you'll find a place that will treat you well. I actually realized yesterday when my FSIL ordered her BM dress that I miss dress shopping... lol

    OMG!!! That's awful!!!! Please don't get discouraged though!!

    I had some not-so-great experiences (nothing quite like yours though)... but I also had some WONDERFUL experiences... We went to 7 different bridal shops, so it can be a crap shoot... I hope the next place you check out is fantastic! ...I would definitely write some scathing letters to the crappy places you went to though... that treatment is not ok (especially at the 2nd one)...

    I hate to say names but....oh who the hell am I kidding. I went to the famous Mariellas in Rocky Hill and Bridal Trousseau in Branford.

    Thank you I'm going to a few more places. Hopefully I'll find the one there.

    By the way, love your honeymoon pics in the sig. That's where we are hoping to go as well. Have you booked anything?
