Bride and cake maker?

Am I crazy for wanting to make my own wedding cake? I am trying to do as much by myself as I can for my wedding, but people are telling me I shouldn't spend time making my own cake (I make cakes for a living).  Help.

    If you make cakes for a liiving then you know how much time to put aside for this.

    Up to you. I am a photographer so I photographed my son's wedding and wouldn't you know it no pictures of me at the wedding. (Mine you I hate my picture taken)  Tried to talk my fiancee out of getting a photographer for our wedding.  He wouldn't go for it

    If it is something you enjoy doing and have the time to do it, go for it.  But if it is going to be stressful maybe find someone you trust to do it, or bake the cake yourself, freeze it and have someone decorate it for you.

    I think considering that you are a professional, it wouldn't be bad at all.  You understand time, method, and storage.  I think that as long as you have someone else to transport and set up the cake the day of, you will be fine. I just don't think you want to worry about taking care of it yourself when you need to get ready on your wedding day.
