Missouri-St Louis

which would you choose?

if you had a choice between mid May or early June for an evening outdoor ceremony and reception (World's Fair Pavilion), which would you choose?? it's driving me crazy because when I checked the weather history for the days, the one in May seemed too cold (high mid 60's, low upper 30's!!), and the one in June seemed too hot (high upper 90's!! low low 70's).  Both seem freakishly out of whack for that time of year and I don't know what to do! The June date doesn't seem too bad for the evening but we will be taking pictures that day... I have very fair skin and don't want to accidently get sunburnt before my ceremony!! :-(

Re: which would you choose?

  • Truthfully, the weather in St. Louis is consistently unpredictable, do whatever works best for you and your family.  Chances are mid-May is going to be busier for people- graduations, christenings, confirmations- so out of consideration for your guests I'd pick early June.

If you're very fair, you should wear sunscreen every day.  Find a body lotion and a foundation with at least SPF 30 and buy some spray on sunscreen for someone to keep in the bag you'll have with you- I bet your photographer will hold it for you and watch for redness.

  • June is the most popular wedding month so reservations would need to be quick! Both are great though!
  • I agree with PP.  It's Saint Louis, it can do just about anything.  You just have to pick a date and hope for the best.
  • It's Saint Louis.  If you don't like the weather, wait an hour- it'll change.

Although, I'd go with the June date- it should be fairly nice.

  • I'm not a fan of being dressed up and hot. So, I would take the one that historically has been cooler. But, as others have suggested the weather is unpredictable.

    What a beautiful venue. Enjoy.

This!  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />   The morning of my wedding it was pouring rain and freezing - in mid-September.  By the time of our wedding that afternoon, it had completely dried up and warmed up to around 70.  So really, it's hard to say which would be best.
