It does not include rings. It does include jewlery, veill, shoes, ceremony, and hotel rooms and decor. We are getting married at MB. We are doing the Winter Passion package then extending our stay until Sunday.

First thing I would do is rethink the MB; it's not as budget friendly as other options. Can you get married at the chapel across the street? One of the ladies got married there....hmmmm, who was that? i'm guessing that their packages are much cheaper than the MB. Can you advise what you are paying for your package? If that is coming out of the $2500 then we know a little better what you're working with.

Can you switch to Monday, 12/19? You (and guests can come in Sunday) and you will save a boatload of $$$. You can extend your stay through Wednesday for much, much less. That hotel room is really going to dig into your budget. For example, I just got a Wynn special today for $219 Fri/Say but only $139 Sun-Thurs. That's almost $100/night. The MB will be no different. If you are staying 3 nights at the MB for $200/fri/sat and $150/thursday, that's going to be around $600 (without hotel tax or resort fees. I don't know what the MB's take is on that). Go Sun-Wed and your 3 nights look more like $486, maybe less as this is based on $150/night.

Switch to the Monday wedding and move it to morning or early afternoon. My sister was married on a Tuesday at 1 pm and had her entire wedding for under $5k. There were about 30 people there and she served a buffet lunch with wedding cake, consumption wine and beer bar, cake, DJ. You can do a lunch AT a buffet instead of doing a reception with a buffet, but you may actually find that if you do a prix fixe menu at a restaurant, you can do it for less. Perhaps even maggianos or someplace similar can help you out. Do a dry reception with a lunch. Let them know that you want to do a lunch for $20 PP and have them provide a menu options to you. Assuming 16 people, with tax and service, we're talking $415.

So now you have your room at $486, lunch at $415 and a ceremony at, let's say, $500. That leaves you about $1100 for the other amenities. What does your ceremony package include? What else do you need? Have a friend take pictures. Pass on additonal flowers. In fact, drop the flower girl or go with fake petals. Don't do drinking or dancing.

Without other info, that's about all I can do now.

Stand alone chapel ladies, come out with your midweek costs!

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

You can get you dress from Davids Bridal, they start at $99. Try Ebay for your jewelry and veil, I got my veil for $1. Yes. $1. I got all of my jewelry for under $20. I got my shoes from forever 21 for $25. I got my centerpieces for $5 each and surrounded them with rose petals I got on ebay. For 10 tables it was about $60. I am not sure how much the packages are at MB, but I think it is pretty expensive. Have you already put down a deposit there? If not, I would move somewhere cheaper, the Little Church of the West is next to MB and starts at $199. We went to Maggianos for our reception which is more than you want to spend, but there are many options, buffet, cafe, or in suite that you can definitely afford. Just budget wisely and don't let this wedding kill you.

[QUOTE]I am open for suggestions; believe it or not I never was not. Our budget is 2500 but that includes my dress; his tux, my boys tux, flower girl dress and the rest of accessories etc that I will need. I don't have a good guest count.

I think that would help you GREATLY in deciding what you can afford. Granted you could always go reverse and find a venue and see how many you can afford to host there, but I think the other way around makes more sense (guests THEN venue).

Smokey is too fast!

Oh and also for the Tuxes, the men don't HAVE to wear tuxes, the rental is at least $150. My H wore a jacket he already owned, we got pants & shirt from the outlet mall for $30. We got his tie, cufflinks, and hankie for $5 on ebay. We also got his vest on Ebay for $17. Ebay will save you. They also have very nice children tuxes and dresses for less than $30. Just check around, ebay saved my life for sure.

Isn't there an organisation in the USA that collects donated wedding dresses to pass onto military brides? I am sure I saw something on this on TV here in Australia so surely it would be easy to track down.
There is no shame in excepting a contribution from the public. They are giving it to help out and thank military familys who they know do not get paid enough. I was considering taking up the offer from a group that gives brides with breast cancer wedding dresses but we decided we could afford my dress so why take a great dress off someone else who could need it more. But if we couldn't afford it I would definately do it.
We are doing our reception at a buffet (The M Resorts Studio B). It is very economical and includes beer and wine.
We are using A Elvis Chapel and their packages start at $159 for traditional ceremonies (no elvis) and include a lot of extras.

The package is 950 at the Wynn it includes pictures, flowers, a room for a night, minister and music. I already have a dress and veil on layaway. I am considering a lunch buffet (my FI is going to hit up his parents). I see good reviews for the Wynn so maybe there. Someone suggested a good inexpensive cake place so I will see if the Wynn allows outside cakes. I am looking for sales for everything else.

Thank you everyone for your advice, suggestions and input; it is all very helpful.

Have you put down the deposit at Wynn? You could definitely find a cheaper package elsewhere, and that cuts pretty deep in to your budget....

Smokey I might agree with you if I could ever get beyond all those words!

The Wynn is even more than MB. You can definitely get a better deal elsewhere with the ceremony package and the lunch.
