Bra Fitting?

I have wanted to get fitted for years.  I went to Vicky's Secret one day and they measured me but they did it with my shirt on and right in the store (not dressing room) and people ended up telling me that didn't count b/c it wasn't a real fitting.

So now with the wedding coming up, I want to get a real fitting and get a good bra for my wedding day (and some every day bras that enhance me a little bit more!).

I just made an appt for a place here in Atlanta that is famous for bra fittings - their bras are really expensive, but I'd pay more for a great wedding day bra.  My dress is very structured on top so I don't need a corset or anything else, just a good strapless bra.

How many of you ladies have had a bra fitting before?  Did it really help in terms of you buying the right size bra?

Do you already have your bra/undergarments for your wedding day?  If not, are you willing to spend more to get the perfect fit?

I've never had a professional bra fitting but being very heavy up top I've always had to go to speciality stores to buy good ones that support me, which unfortunately are quite costly. When I went dress shopping I just told her the size that I usually buy and she had to improvise but the strapless they had in stock fit well;  I was pleasantly surprised.

I've had a bra fitting before at Intimacy. It was a real eye opener. You can really feel and see the difference when you have on the correct size. They also teach you how they are suppose to fit and stuff like that. My REAL bra size is not really sold in "regular" stores. lol. But for your wedding day, splurge on one of those $100+ bras! You won't regret it!

Their bras are so pretty! The one I wanted was beautiful and it was $110. One day I'll be able to spend that type of money on ONE bra! lol. My size is a 32 C or something crazy like that.

I had the same kind of fitting that you described Cincy at Gap Body, and I wondered if that was the right bra size.  I had been wearing that bra size for years so I figured it was right, but I've been wanting to get a good fititng too because I don't think the size she told me was accurate.  FI has expressed some concern that he thinks my bras may be a bit too tight because I have scratches and scars around my bra line which would indicate that, uhh. yeah, they may be a bit too tight  I'm pretty sure they don't have a store like Intimacy here in NC, but I would definately go if I could.  I do not have my wedding day undergarments yet, but I have been thinking about it.  I think I'm getting a body shaper to tighten up my belly area.  I was thinking about getting spanx and I know they are expensive, but I spent a lot on my dress so I want to make sure that I look my best in it.  I'm actually torn between the spanx and a longline bra.  Cincy (and the rest of you ladies as well), are you planning on wearing shapewear?

Tyboyd, I gained weight when I started dating my FI too.  And I have the small boobs big donk issue!  I tried on this dress that I'm wearing for my e-pics and had to go up a couple of dress sizes because it fits too tight around the butt/hip area, but I will have to get it taken in up top because I'm on the itty bitty t--ty committee.  I actually saw a t-shirt that said that when I was down in Atlanta (Little Five Points).  I thought about buying the shirt but then I thought, I really don't have to draw attention to that fact.  It's pretty obvious. LOL.

@Tam: Spanx can work WONDERS!!! lol.

@Tam and Rekaeagle: This weight gain is NOT what's up! I was 118. It's only been 11 months since we've met. I should only be 125, MAYBE! I was in a 4/6, now I have to get 8s, which is new to me. Or I can get in a 6 and dag on near have to have it surgically removed! LOL!!! I have a little bit of chest, but not some tig ole bitties! lol

@Tyboyd, I know it's not what's up. I don't even wanna talk about the amount of sizes I went up. But double digits are not cool and when it first happened I was kinda upset. I enjoy the curves now though. Funny thing is just when I started my new workout routine, I find out I'm pregnant. Oh well...hopefully I don't put on too much weight during this pregnancy. *fingers crossed*

Ugh...this is my issue. I gained 20 pounds over the last year and a half...now 145 and all on bottom. I am an A cup. I have been told that I shouldn't complain, but it makes shopping such a chore now! I am trying to come down off 15 pounds before July.

@Tyboyd and Eagles, shopping really has become such a chore.  I don't really know what size I wear anymore.  That's why I love shoes so much. I can't go wrong there. Oh! and I'm going to check into the Spanxx Tyboyd.

I wanted to do a bra fitting because I needed a minimizer bra for my dress. I was willing to spend some $$$ for this special occasion, but my fitting at Intimicies didn't go so well :( The lady tried to put me in a bra that was waaayy to big. The wires were on my stomach and she tried to convice me that was ok..lol...I ended up getting mine from the Maiden Form store at the North GA. Outlet.
I've gained weight in the last year, but fortunately the boobies have not grown. I'm already a D cup so I think I'm good there.

I haven't heard "tig ole bitties" in years - ROTFL!!!!!!  Thanks for that laugh tyboyd!

I gained about 10 lbs after I met FI but since I've upped my workout routine and added in cardio kickbox classes, I lost it again - thank God!  B/c I was not feeling the back fat I had going on!  LOL

@Cincy and Tam: I went to kickboxing twice at my gym and it kicked my @ss!!! I was about to die! We have a gym membership, but I just can't get in a routine! I'm gonna try really hard. And I gotta stop with the fast food, though it is MUCH better than it used to be!

That will do it girl - if you do kickboxing a couple of times a week and cut down to eating fast food only once a week, you will see great results!  Just start slow - whenever I pushed myself to "go all out" with workouts I always stopped doing them shortly after.  But I started slow this time and I was able to slowly increase my workout sessions and decrease my bad eating habits.  It's worked out well!
