simple honeymoons?

due to a limited budget and work schedule, we cant go all out on a honeymoon. we were thinking somewhere within a few hours to get out of town for maybe a week (tops) that has some fun simple things to do.

any suggestions? we just need a good hotel and a good little list of to-dos to keep us busy. TIA

You could head down to st. genevieve and stay at a winery if you like wine, they have tons of great state parks too that are beautiful for hiking and outdoor activities.

You could head up to chicago, it would be a little more pricey but you could stay a little bit outside of the city and drive into the city for sight seeing and nice dinners, it would still be within a 5 hour drive

Hidden Lake Winery in Illinois has individual cabins you can rent. They have honeymoon cabins that have heart-shaped jacuzzis. There's also a winery (of course), a restaurant, and trails throughout the property. H and I are planning on staying there some weekend next summer.
