Addison Park VS The Venetian - Help!

I am TORN! Please forgive my rant in advance. I thought that the Venetian was the one up until today when i went to Addison Park for a tour. I've always pictured a modern chic white wedding, orchids, bling, over the top until i walked into the Venetian and fell in love with the Palazzo ballroom. With the right uplighting and table settings/chairs that place would be amazing. From that ceiling, to the incredible lighting, great stage, and attention demanding double staircase entrance...what else more could i want! Plus i heard the food is out of this world, which is very important to me (and my food loving Italian family :) And the veinesse hour sealed the deal for me because i am known for my sweet tooth so it was very important to me to have an over the top dessert hour.
The Venetian was the very first place we saw, so i wasn't comfortable with booking there until i ruled out a few places and made sure The Venetian was the one. A few things i didn't like about it was that they hold 2 weddings at once, i hate the ceremony room, and the road that it is on is not pretty. I must admit, once your inside the place you totally forget about the road that it's on, so i could probably overlook that. Then they agreed to let us hold the ceremony in their other ballroom instead of the ceremony space, which would allow us to have the feel of being the only people in the building. So that kind of fixed those problems. But then i went to Addison Park today. Everything about it is gorgeous. The wow factor when you walk in, the black and white chic design, the chairs, couches, molding on the walls, the beautiful outdoor spaces. It's everything i imaged my wedding to be. Since we have a large party, we could have the whole place to ourselves, and open the ballroom up so our reception would be in the entire space. That takes care of the negative reviews that i've seen about the double wedding problems there (sound and sharing bathrooms, etc). The only other thing that i am uneasy about is the reviews i've seen about the food being just "OK" or not as great as some other venues. I would bring a stage in, and possibly even a dance floor, to give the room more of a wow factor. The room is beautiful but after being in the Palazzo it's hard to forget about that ceiling. I also don't like the fact that the bride and groom entrance is just walking thru the doors...after seeing the Venetian entrance down the double staircase it just seems uneventful to walk thru doors :) If anyone had this same dilemma or has any advice about either venue's please let me know, i'd really appreciate it!! I need to make a decision asap!

Thank you!!

If you are really looking to WOW your guests with an unbelievable spread of great food, then no doubt you will with the Venetian. It's top quality food, in abundance,  and I know that's what the Italians look for, not the chairs and the couches...

  • From your own words, the Venetian sounds like the clear winner. I looked at both and if I wanted everything that you do I would choose the Venetian. I'm surprised they will let you use the other ballroom. A girl I know just had a 548person wedding and the Venetian would not give her the whole building so she booked at the same venue as me, the Grove. However, I would pick the Venetian if I were you. Yes, Addison Park has a more modern overall look but Venetian's menu and big ballroom are both amazing.

  • I looked at over 10 venues and was obsessed with Addison Park. However, if there was one other venue I would have debated, it would have been the Venetian. And that was because of the larger ballroom, not the smaller one.
My FI and I are both Italian and come from big Italian families so food was the most important part of planning. We also live and work in NYC area so we frequent plenty of top rated Italian restaurants locally. The latest reviews of Addison Park say the food was outstanding on WW so I wouldn't worry about the food. Another thing I would suggest is asking for a tasting. We were given a private food tasting during a wedding and the food was excellent. By far the best fried calamari we had (which is one of our favorite dishes). A few friends had attended events there and suggested we look at AP for their food because we were not having any luck with previous venues. We are also having a Viennesse Hour which is ridiculous and even heard from those friends they had never seen something like it and almost was too much. While the Venetian is no doubt gorgeous, I am not sure about their photo opportunities outside, which is another drawing factor I know AP has with plenty of photo ops to take outside as well. We are also having our ceremony outside at the colonnade, which I think is another Wow factor. PM me for any more questions and good luck!
