I am TORN! Please forgive my rant in advance. I thought that the Venetian was the one up until today when i went to Addison Park for a tour. I've always pictured a modern chic white wedding, orchids, bling, over the top until i walked into the Venetian and fell in love with the Palazzo ballroom. With the right uplighting and table settings/chairs that place would be amazing. From that ceiling, to the incredible lighting, great stage, and attention demanding double staircase entrance...what else more could i want! Plus i heard the food is out of this world, which is very important to me (and my food loving Italian family
And the veinesse hour sealed the deal for me because i am known for my sweet tooth so it was very important to me to have an over the top dessert hour.
The Venetian was the very first place we saw, so i wasn't comfortable with booking there until i ruled out a few places and made sure The Venetian was the one. A few things i didn't like about it was that they hold 2 weddings at once, i hate the ceremony room, and the road that it is on is not pretty. I must admit, once your inside the place you totally forget about the road that it's on, so i could probably overlook that. Then they agreed to let us hold the ceremony in their other ballroom instead of the ceremony space, which would allow us to have the feel of being the only people in the building. So that kind of fixed those problems. But then i went to Addison Park today. Everything about it is gorgeous. The wow factor when you walk in, the black and white chic design, the chairs, couches, molding on the walls, the beautiful outdoor spaces. It's everything i imaged my wedding to be. Since we have a large party, we could have the whole place to ourselves, and open the ballroom up so our reception would be in the entire space. That takes care of the negative reviews that i've seen about the double wedding problems there (sound and sharing bathrooms, etc). The only other thing that i am uneasy about is the reviews i've seen about the food being just "OK" or not as great as some other venues. I would bring a stage in, and possibly even a dance floor, to give the room more of a wow factor. The room is beautiful but after being in the Palazzo it's hard to forget about that ceiling. I also don't like the fact that the bride and groom entrance is just walking thru the doors...after seeing the Venetian entrance down the double staircase it just seems uneventful to walk thru doors
If anyone had this same dilemma or has any advice about either venue's please let me know, i'd really appreciate it!! I need to make a decision asap!
Thank you!!
